CLEARWATER - Michael Schiavo has asked a court to waive the two-year statute of limitations on filing a medical malpractice lawsuit against one or more of his deceased wife's caregivers.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 after her feeding tube was removed after a seven-year court battle.
Schiavo's attorney in this case, Mark Perenich, said he was not able to discuss the proposed lawsuit behind Tuesday's request for an extension of the two-year statute of limitations.
By law, medical malpractice lawsuits must be filed within two years of the alleged misconduct unless an extension is granted.
In October 2003, Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed on court order. Doctors reinserted it on orders from Gov. Jeb Bush.
The truth is all going to come out. Terri's life and death is too hot for the media to walk away. The 2006 elections will be totally bizarre because Terri come up in debate after debate. It's sad that one HINO had the entire state helping him and it's never enough. Terri is the one who needed help. She got squat.
I forgot the State Right's argument. You get to give up your pursuit of Life, Liberty and Happiness if a state deems you cannot communicate that you are in favor of it, so you must be against it if heresay supports this contention.
Why is he a slimeball? I bet he's suing them because they lied about him. That's what this lawsuit is about. THEY ACCUSED HIM of things and I think this is the best way to clear his name.
Michael Schiavo gets what he wants in any court in the State of Florida. If they turn him down, he'll win at a higher level. He's a republican and he must have something on somebody.
Use your brain. He's suing becuase they falsely accused him of doing things. He's clearing his name. You would do the same thing if people were saying things about you FOR MONEY, which those nurses were.
Pls correspond by freepmail re: mailing lists.
I'm waiting for him to come out with a book and a T.V. series.
This guy is the lowest thing to ever move across the earth.
He could crawl under a slug.
Did you know that Michael Schiavo was just awarded Guardian of the Year award by the Florida Guardian Assn.? Couldn't they have found a REAL GUARDIAN, not a ghoul who loves money more than his illegitimate children or his concubine or Terri?
You're joking, right?
No, it's definitely a medical malpractice....at this point, all we know from the Courts is the defendant is "In Re"...the article mentions "caregivers."
The Courts would supply the information, probably, to a media outlet as to who is being sued....probably won't answer that on the phone.
My opinion: I believe it's several people and at least one entitity, such as the Hospice or Hospital, or doctor's group (i.e., the professional corporation). Also, IMHO, it won't be just one lonely person, i.e., an outspoken nurse against MS.
Why is that my opinion? Michael Schiavo wants more money...hence, he's going after big pockets. Who has big pockets? A corporation, such as a doctor's professional corporation, hospital or hospice....they have money because, ultimately, there's INSURANCE COVERAGE to doctors/hospitals/hospices for MALPRACTICE. It's othewise not worth an attorney's time to go after someone.
that baby doesn't look too euphoric to me.
but then, neither do pictures of the Holocaust survivors.
Judge Greer had the power to have swat guns pointed at people praying and holding signs that said Governor Bush, Save Terri. We had high powered weapons pointed at us. Judge Greer called us insurgents. He almost declared marshall law. It was sick. He's still on the bench and he's still a crook.
Never thought I could see someone make Stalin look good by comparison.
The PERENICH LAW FIRM, were big AL GORE supporters. They are LEFT WINGERS in suits. He probably chose them because their office is near HINO's luxurious digs.
Wrong, hildy...it's a MALPRACTICE EXTENSION SUIT. Do you know how to read?
That makes sense. Thanks.
I think I know what went wrong. He's been shopping a book and a movie and I betcha nobody was interested because he's so creepy. He was counting on a book deal. Poor hino.
is he going to sue the nurses who testified against him?
His brothers on local Philly talk radio, insinuated that Michael would be suing people who spoke out against him.
I got the impression he's suing them for following the governor's order, instead of his bought-and-paid-for-with-embezzled-money court order.
Do you realize how many times he has killed?
Terri's two cats
His own father
His own mother
Terri
Didn't Jodi's mother die in their home, immediately after being diagnosed with cancer? What's the rest of that story? There was precious little written about it. The media glossed over it and brushed it under the rug awfully quick.
How many times must someone kill before they are considered a serial killer? How many serial killers stop after receiving an award from the government for their actions?
If I was Jodi, I'd be worried.
I think he could sue Jeb because he sued Jeb before in Circuit Court. But, Jeb is trying to be HINO's buddy - maybe so HINO won't sue him.
