I just received an email message from a long time friend of Harry Clark. She says he passed away yesterday at his home in Virginia. She also says he will be greatly missed for his quirky sense of humor and quick mind. If you got past his superficial BS shell, he was a wonderful person.
He will be greatly missed.
Very sorry for the loss of your friend, Sheiladd. I enjoyed his sense of humor.
Has anyone found Harry's obit yet?
Not unless his name was Monena Lowdermilk. It's a riddle surrounded by an enigma.
Good riddance! With all your brand new free time, maybe you can take up tap-dancing on graves.
When we lose those we cherish, even those we don't really know, but only know of, it seems so unfair and cruel. But maybe Harry's time was done here. He'd accomplished all God had in mind for him to do, so he was called Home. We'll see him again, of course, and in the meantime, he's still with us in spirit. Prayers for his family and friends. God bless.
I know I'll miss him, that's for sure.
No more Other Harry threads for awhile.
OMG! :(
Rest in Peace Harry.
Looking over his posts of the past few weeks, I think he knew his time was nearly up.
I concur. I don't care what SoVaDVP's professional qualifications may be. NOBODY can ascertain based on a bunch of random Internet posts that someone was a child molester. And to speculate publicly on that subject on a thread concerning the recent death of the the person in question, is totally uncivilized (and SoVaDVP was doing more than speculating, s/he was asserting this as fact). I think SoVaDVP is a lot sicker than The Other Harry ever was.
I trust that Harry is busy posting wacky entertaining vanities in a better place now.
Not everyone gets an obituary in their local paper. Harry was not a long-time resident of this Virginia town. He moved there from California in 2001, and I gather had never held a job in his new hometown. Any obituary for him is more likely to appear in the hometown paper of his parents, or adult children if he had any, and even then only if they still live in a place where he also lived for a significant period of time. And with a name like "Harry Clark", it would be hard to track down unless you knew what town you were looking for.
I think Harry got in some good hard tugs on BOTH of SoVaDPJ's legs. Can't really blame him either. I think I would have had trouble resisting toying with him/her, especially if I knew I wasn't going to be alive much longer (as I suspect was the case with Harry).
I dunno. We have ascertained that the sumbich died based on said data.
I think a good chunk of our confidence comes from the fact that JimRob posted this announcement, and clearly thinks he knew enough about Harry to believe the message he received and give a strong positive endorsement of Harry. Given that JimRob has access to registration and donation information that we don't, I'll take his word for it. JimRob has a huge amount of experience with FR posters pretending to be someone they aren't, and I suspect he's quite good at sniffing them out by now.
Give me a break.
I first saw TOH during the Westerfield trial where he joined the "anybody can have child porn on their computer" brigade and then later solicited advice (and got it) for how to scrub a harddrive.
He recently was talking extensively about the little neighbor girl and what to get her for her birthday and how he can watch her play while he sits naked on his porch.
I'll feel plenty free to speculate publicly about his public musings. I have my speculations about those that race to defend such, too.
Harry was an alcoholic, as he mentioned repeatedly. All his posts and activities need to be taken in that context. He was quirky to be sure, but it's a big leap to assume to anything sinister.
Most people are well aware that things can get onto their hard drives without their knowledge. Sometimes people follow links that lead to more than they realized they'd find there, and sometimes people open e-mails that are masquerading as one thing and turn out to be another. Any images associated with these activities -- including some the user may not even have seen -- can end up on your hard-drive, and a non-tech savvy person may not know they're there much less how to find and delete them.
I read an article a few days ago about parents who are trying to get some legal action taken to stop pornographic spam -- their children had been receiving innocent-looking e-mails, opening them to find out what they were, and getting hard-core porn. Even if they closed them right away and ran and told their parents, the images are usually still stored on their hard drives. Yes, anybody CAN have this garbage on their computers, and a lot of perfectly innocent people do. A tech-competent investigator should be able to determine whether the images could have gotten their accidentally, but your average police detective can't.
They were really weird, weren't they? It's hard to know if someone is serious from our side of the box, but...face it, old Harry had some interesting foibles, as he himself would put it.
I don't know if he did anything illegal, or if he was planning to. (Well, his immortalized DUI aside, lol) I can't know that. I think some of his later posts were cause for concern, for many reasons. He wasn't well, physically, as he implied when he said he was thinking of asking the neighbor girl to scatter his ashes. He stated he had a problem with alcohol and apparently was skeptical of treatment programs.
Who knows what the story was with Harry? I don't know if we will ever know.
Prayers for Harry, his family and friends.
