World energy security dependent on Iran: Rafsanjani
Tehran Times ^ | August 10, 2005

TEHRAN – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said here on Tuesday that maintaining energy security in the world is not possible without Iran.

“Iran is in a powerful position in view of its resources, geographical location and scientific capability; this power should be introduced to the people and those who favor the Islamic Revolution worldwide,” he said in a meeting with heads of the external branches of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) network.

Referring to the recent events concerning Iran’s nuclear issue, Rafsanjani noted the country will soon face a wave of propaganda against its nuclear activities at this sensitive juncture.

He stressed the necessity to inform the Iranian and world public opinion of the transparency of the country’s nuclear policy.

Iran gained access to this technology at a time when it was under sanctions and facing much opposition and will not relinquish its nuclear capability, he added.

Rafsanjani stressed that the Islamic Republic plays an effective role in global and regional issues.

“Iran is one of the most promising and permanent energy centers in the world and superpowers have cast covetous eyes on it due to the country’s political, economic and geographical importance.

"Today the world is dependent on us and Iran can no longer be ignored in international calculations.”

The EC chairman underlined that the Islamic Republic plays a very effective role in world energy security.

“However, it has graciously avoided taking any adventurous approach and has remained committed to international and regional security,” he added.

Challange:

blow up Iran and lets see what happens. My guess, the world would be a better place without it and we would see no changes.

Not possible....

HAH!

One thing these IslamoNazis should learn is that NOTHING is impossible for he United States. Its just harder or easier to do.

Tell your 'not possible' excuses to the Sanctions that are coming within 2months.

The US was NEVER the weak link... but due to Iran's incrasingly obvious obstruction of Iran (along with current events like the London bombings)... the Eurors are FINALLY on board for tough action.

They better piss their pants, and PRAY the USA doesn't get what it wants.... their threats are nuthin' but a load of bull and about as dangerous as the Big Bad Wolf and his dangerous 'huffs and puffs'

SUCK IT TEHARAN... your time it just about UP.

That just about says it all, doesn't it? Question is is anyone listening?

The otherside of that argument is that without their oil they are nothing.

Rafsanjani wants to play that card? Must be getting close to desperation over there.

These dumb Muslim idiots just don't get it. They have one commodity, oil. They have no economy , no freedom, no consumerism. They better wake up to reality. The USA, China, India, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, etc. have the economic & military muscle to crush these fools in one day. And...if the Chinese and Indians really get ticked off, there won't be a Muslim left alive in the entire world. The future is clearly on the wall for the Muslim morons. Better wake up boys, and cut out this terrorism BS, You are living on a short string that is about to be cut. If you had an ounce of brains and common sense, you would deliver Osama Bin Laden's head to GW Bush and Tony Blair on a platter.

Saddam thought the samething. We only had to do without his oil for a few days.

If Iran thinks nukes or withholding oil will save their sorry butts, they will be...

Allowing Iran to have nukes is like allowing Hitler to have them.

Only a fool would allow them to even get close.

They are getting closer by the day.

If the U.S. would develop nuclear power and drill for oil in our own country instead of appeasing the enviro-wackos, we can sit back and let Iran become also-ran.

The otherside of that argument is that without their oil they are nothing.

They're not much with it. Let's take it and then they'll be less than nothing.... provided we do it before they make some the nukes, and destroy their ability to make any.

Can't do that when those wackos are close to developing Nukes. Those have to be dealt with, sooner rather than later.
