U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Tuesday that weapons recently confiscated in Iraq were "clearly, unambiguously from Iran."
The shipment of sophisticated bombs was confiscated in the past two weeks by U.S. and Iraqi troops in southern Iraq, senior U.S. officials said Monday.
The U.S. officials said the devices were more lethal and more sophisticated than the improvised explosive devices typically used by Iraqi insurgents.
After examining the truckload of devices, intelligence analysts said the explosive parts are similar to those used by Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
Troops found the devices inside crates seized near a border crossing on the Iraqi side, the officials said.
Three senior U.S. officials told CNN the devices were made in such a way that their blast would have been focused in a single direction, thereby increasing their lethality.

OK, no more talk Mr. President -- it is time to apply the "BUSH DOCTRINE"... what more evidence do we need ???
The mullahs are going to end up in their own dungeons, waiting to feel the bite of their own nooses. None of these underhanded tactics can save them.
You said it!
We saw an article yesterday indicating that recent statements from the Pentagon seem to be setting the table for a showdown with Iran. This seems to be further proof...
None. There's a pretty blonde teen missing in Aruba, and that takes priority.
The guy is senile.....time for the dog track.
I can't stand the guy's wry little smile.
I'm getting tired fast of our men getting blown up with no retaliation!!!
Well now we are officially acknowledging somethign they have known for a while. The only reason they would speak about it now is for two reasons.
One, they feel forced to speak about it after recent attacks and Generals discussing the flow of weapons from Iran.
Two, they have something planned for Iran.
I expect NBC news will be too busy lamenting the demise of St. Jennings to have time for such a triffling as this.

It is such an important story that Fox News devotes almost 3 entire shows to it every night. /sarcasm
What is the likelihood that this factoid will make tonight's NBC Nightly News ?
***
Who cares about NBC? CNN has the report and now, so does Fox.
How do you know whats being done in retaliation?
Smoking gun. Time to bring out Mr MOAB and teach the Iranian mullahs what the word "hyperpower" really means.
The original report was that the bombs were made in Iran, but not with the participation of the Irani government. Seems pretty clear that was wrong. Sophisticated bombs liked these could only come out of government controlled factories.
"None. There's a pretty blonde teen missing in Aruba, and that takes priority."
Tonight will be all about Dana Reeves, Christopher Reeves wife, having lung cancer.
What factoid?
Didn't you hear?
A European airplane flown by a French pilot skidded on Japanese tires off a poorly designed Canadian runway and the German-built fuselage cracked in half. When the passengers, (all of whom survived) evacuated the plane, one of the AMERICAN MADE doors got stuck!!! Someone could have been killed due to American carelessness and shoddy workmanship!
It's BUSH's FAULT!
That's the big story.
if we attack Iran, we'd have $100 oil within two weeks time. some pinprick attack won't cut it, we'd have to go all out, and there is no public support amongst americans for a full scale war to topple iran.
