Mugged by reality
Jewish World Review ^ | August 9, 2005 | Frank J. Gaffney, Jr.

In announcing last week a sweeping crackdown in Britain on the "evil ideology" of coming to be known as Islamofascism, Prime Minister Tony Blair declared that "the rules of the game have changed." So, it would appear has he.

In fact, Mr. Blair has become an exemplar of the old adage that a "conservative is a liberal who has been mugged." The two bombing attacks on London's mass-transit systems, perpetrated mostly by home-grown Islamist suicide bombers (actual or would-be), not only mugged Britain's recently reelected leader, but his country, as well.

Gee, you think Britian will stop allowing Islamics to train and recruit for Jihads in Russia, Yugoslavia, Macedonia, Israel, India and other places? Some how I strongly doubt it.

Long live Londonistan, home to Western European Islamic Jihad. /sarcasm

jb6--did you read an article I posted ? Frank Gaffney actually chastises Tony Blair for his previous lax attitude to Jihadists in Britain and his continuing support for "Palestinian" state that will undoubtely be another base for Jihad.

It doesn't matter what I think. It matters what actually will be done about Jihadists (if anything).

Asylum will no longer be granted terrorists or their sympathizers.

This was perhaps the one biggest deficiency in Britain's former security posture. The idea was that no one sane would make trouble for the country that was protecting one from trouble elsewhere. Not with these guys.

Mosques where such activities are allowed to take place will be shut down.

They need to be searched first for weapons and then bulldozed as well. And I consider myself a moderate on the issue.

There's the rub. Already senior Labour MPs are complaining of the pace - as usual they are not happy unless everyone in the country has been consulted and signed off on every detail first - and Charles Kennedy of the Lib Dems is going to oppose at least some of it.

Nothing unusual--the libo socialists still refuse to face the reality and they will continue to sabotage any perfectly reasonable security measure. However, I think Tony Blair will simply ignore this wailing and at least will try to do what's right for Britain. Unfortunately, he'll likely to continue being a main driving force behind a disastrous foreign policy of supporting Palestinian "state" that will surely become Jihadistan directly threatening Israel and becoming yet another base for the "warriors" of Islam to launch Jihad round the world.

So far he learned only some but not all lessons. He still believes that Palestinian terrorism is the result of Israel "oppression" (at least his wife Cherry does). I sincerely hope that it will not take more acts of Islamic terror in Britain or elsewhere in Europe for Tony Blair and other European leaders to finally stop pandering to Islamists.

I agree that Blair has the wrong idea about Israel but fortunately Britain is not the lead player there.

Of more importance is his willingness to put sensible legislation in place, to protect ordinary Britons from Islamic terror. If the Tories stand with him, as so far they've indicated they will do (they have called for this sort of legislation for years and been branded as racists because of it) he can afford to lose the loony-left of his party, and the Lib Dems.

"I agree that Blair has the wrong idea about Israel but fortunately Britain is not the lead player there."

Right after the London Bombing, Tony Blair offered a hefty sum of aid money to Palestinian Autonomy. He was also one of the foremost advocates of Palestinian State, pressing Bush to press Israel for more concessions. He is by no means the only one, but he is (or at least he was) one of the leading players to create yet another Islamic terror state. It's not to say that Tony Blair is anti-Israel, but his "progressive" socialist background still plays a role in his politics.

Civilized countries don't deliberately bulldoze people -:))))

Throw any Muslim extremist out of the US and out of any more or less normal country--yes I'm 100% for it. If anyone wants to live according to Islamic Sharia law--then let them go to live in Arabian Peninsula or North Africa--not in US or Europe.

okay, I guess you're right...

But we should at least twist their noses and kick them in the pants when they run out of their Mosques before we bulldoze them...
