The photograph at right was taken in the early 1900s and shows the Pool of Siloam before later Muslim construction above it.

We need to build an entire civilization above the ruins of modern Islam.

When I was in jerusalem a couple years ago I found it depressing that all the truly old Jerusalem was gone. They've recreated things and a lot of it looks very biblical but the stones Christ walked on are hard to find. I can't wait to go back and visit this site.

One of my favorite Bible stories, and one of the few with humor, albeit sarcasm. ("That's rich! He cured me of blindness and you 'experts' don't know where he's from!")

i saw the excavations at this site in February in Jerusalem. if you get a chance to hear Ronny Reich, archaeologist from Israel, he is working on this site and the massive new digs in the City of David. well worth everyone's time who is interested in this.

This simply isn't possible. I know that for a fact, since no Joooz have ever lived in Jerusalem, at least not before the evil zionists occupied it, and there was never any such thing as the "Holy Temple" for the Joooz. I know that because the muslims say so!

A wild prediction: this will be the archaeological discovery of the decade for biblical studies. At least there is no chance of it being declared a forgery.

ROTFLMAO
Just a tad bitter about some other 'recent discoveries', perhaps?

IAC, thanks for posting this. I hope they are able to reach an agreement, and finish excavating the entire site.

Our family was just there last week. We were looking for the lower end of Hezekiah's tunnel, driving up and down the Arab neighborhood. We finally gave up and parked at the top end and walked down until we found 30 VERY wet teens from the US (on a Jewish Heritage trip) coming out of the lower end, which sadly is managed by the same Mooselimb authority as Har Ha-Bayit [Temple Mount].

In our wanderings in the neighborhood, we actually stumbled into a group working on the lower site. This whole area has been turned into a near-ghetto by the "residents" - but the City of David is protected by a fence, and armed guards. Hopefully, this too will be brought under Israeli control.

Truth always finds its way to the surface, but it all comes down to whether you believe.

Fascinating that the ruins are uncovered around the Jewish calendar anniversary of much of the destruction (9th of Av).

Coincidence? Bah!
