President George W Bush today spoke about the Energy Policy Act of 2005 he signed into law today at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M.
Before he departed for New Mexico he spoke to reporters at WACO expressing condolences regarding the death from lung cancer of ABC broadcaster Peter Jennings
QUOTE
THE PRESIDENT: Laura and I were saddened to learn about the death of Peter Jennings. Peter Jennings had a long and distinguished career as a news journalist. He covered many important events, events that helped define the world as we know it today. A lot of Americans relied upon Peter Jennings for their news. He became a part of the lives of a lot of our fellow citizens, and he will be missed. May God bless his soul.
Over the weekend there has been much talk on TV and FR about a lady called Cindy Sheehan of Gold Star Families for Peace and her demands to speak to the President. For further details on this please see yesterdays dose and for suggestions in how one can support the President against this women please see Dr Deb post Number 369
If one wants to see a photo of the lady roasting in the Texas heat here is a link for you Cindy Sheehan near her makeshift camp near a road leading to the Presidents Ranch
Last Friday Vice President Dick Cheney led a delegation to Saudi Arabia to pay respects following the recent death of King Fahd which included former President GHW Bush and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Here's looking at you, kid......
Better than the moving guy did! (fortunately)
Does it strike anyone, as it does me, as profoundly significant that in less than a year, all three alphabet anchors have gone away?
I always thought Brokaw had the edge on some sort of degree of integrity. He was the only one who escaped by natural means, unscathed by dishonor or death. But that's not saying much for the lot of them.
That is one great photo
He just has the funniest "so, whaddaya think?" look on his face!
Alright rack ZZ Top reset LOL!
I think Dubya is ZZ Top fan LOL he is from Texas LOL!
Hey snugs I hear that there might be family fight between ex wife of Robin Cook and his gilfriend that he was living with that what I hear on SKY news this morning
When GQ sees this photot, they will want our W on the cover and put him under contract.
I did think about that one day. Seems fateful. I would have liked to have seen a big turn around in the type of reporting being done by the 3 networks because of the changes, but I've been (and I expected it) very disappointed.
I agree. And through her and her mom, I've met some of the other neighbor children, one of whom was going through several meltdowns in my presence as the children played together. I could tell she was completely on life overload by the way she was unable to handle the simple difficulties of that playtime, and I ended up talking to her gently about dealing with rejection, etc. She came back a few minutes later and said, "We weren't finished talking, remember?" I didn't know we hadn't finished, but realized she must have needed to hear it again, so I began again, and her tears were dried up and she sat on my lap for a while as we talked. Later, another mom told me about the child's background and I could see why she was so unable to cope. I think there is a minefield for ministry here.
Thanks for the recap Gretchen! A cloudy story...with a beautiful silver lining!
You'll do great with Sabrina I'm sure. Good Luck with Jason. He sounds fun. : p
Good to have you back.
Walk carefully, but have at it. Your heart is so big, I'm sure the right words for someone are in there somewhere.
Hiya how you doing?
LOL! Yep....zotted!
Look for changes at ABC. I think Jennings was a solid, immovable, negative cap on that company moving in the "right" direction. Now that he's out of the way, there is a strong chance for true reform. I am expecting it.
"Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man..."
Apples, that's my all-time favorite ZZ Top song! Everytime I see a picture of President Bush or VP Cheney I'm going to have that song playing in my head now, not that that's a bad thing!
I saw a photo of her on Yahoo sweltering in the Texas heat.
LOL! She better get use to it because there is a place in hell for her
Depends on who you are, I guess. People who criticize the President call anything he wants pork. Yet they whine even as they are taking advantage of the tax breaks they have gotten over these 4 years. Go figure.
