PROTESTING SOLDIER MOM CHANGED STORY ON BUSH Mon Aug 08 2005 10:11:07 ET

The mother of a fallen U.S. soldier who is holding a roadside peace vigil near President Bush's ranch -- has dramatically changed her account about what happened when she met the commander-in-chief last summer!

Cindy Sheehan, 48, of Vacaville, Calif., who last year praised Bush for bringing her family the "gift of happiness," took to the nation's TV outlets this weekend to declare how Bush "killed an indispensable part of our family and humanity."

CINDY 2004

THE REPORTER of Vacaville, CA published an account of Cindy Sheehan's visit with the president at Fort Lewis near Seattle on June 24, 2004:

"'I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis,' Cindy said after their meeting. 'I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith.'

"The meeting didn't last long, but in their time with Bush, Cindy spoke about Casey and asked the president to make her son's sacrifice count for something. They also spoke of their faith.

"The trip had one benefit that none of the Sheehans expected.

"For a moment, life returned to the way it was before Casey died. They laughed, joked and bickered playfully as they briefly toured Seattle.

For the first time in 11 weeks, they felt whole again.

"'That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together,' Cindy said."

CINDY 2005

Sheehan's current comments are a striking departure.

She vowed on Sunday to continue her protest until she can personally ask Bush: "Why did you kill my son?"

In an interview on CNN, she claimed Bush "acted like it was party" when she met him last year.

"It was -- you know, there was a lot of things said. We wanted to use the time for him to know that he killed an indispensable part of our family and humanity. And we wanted him to look at the pictures of Casey.

"He wouldn't look at the pictures of Casey. He didn't even know Casey's name. He came in the room and the very first thing he said is, 'So who are we honoring here?' He didn't even know Casey's name. He didn't want to hear it. He didn't want to hear anything about Casey. He wouldn't even call him 'him' or 'he.' He called him 'your loved one.'

Every time we tried to talk about Casey and how much we missed him, he would change the subject. And he acted like it was a party.

BLITZER: Like a party? I mean...

SHEEHAN: Yes, he came in very jovial, and like we should be happy that he, our son, died for his misguided policies. He didn't even pretend like somebody...

END

On her current media tour, Sheehan has not been asked to explain her twist on Bush; from praise to damnation!

Developing...

How dare the President call her son "your loved one." How insensitive. (Sarcasm off)

"BFD (Big F------ Deal). There are maybe 50 at the most protestors out in Crawford and the MSM are treating them like 1,000,000."

Agree. 50 would be on the high end. There were only 6 protesters the other day.

huh.
who is "Everybody?"

1. Bush came right out and admitted his DUI once the story broke. 2. He studied the Thrift Savings Plan concept that works for thousands of federal workers - including myself - I have a great nest egg 3. Bush went off the same intelligence that everyone else did, including John Kerry and 4. The tax policies are working, job creation was up in June.

Next?

And again, who is "Everybody?"

Mike & his partner should have a lot of the facilities open now. He was going to have three football / Scoccer complexes, several basket ball courts, tennis, weight training, gymnastics, track and an olympic pool to be named later. They were looking at a deal that would open a golf facility also.

There is also a marina planned for the island.

Valpo, except for the water front, has gone down a lot. I don't think your bar is around anymore, but we were warned off most of the night time entertainment...

Benicia has had most of the old town area restored / renovated. It is growing like crazy! New bedroom neighborhoods are everywhere as is the east side of Valpo.

President Bush knows what we need to do to fight the terrorists, and it looks like this moonbat's son knew it too. I pray she wakes up and realizes just what she's doing to his memory and how she's spitting on the sacrifices made by our entire military.

My guess is this moonbat, antiwar Mom had issues with her son joining the military in the first place....I don't see any quotes from her about what a good son he was or that she was proud of him...she was probably embarrassed that he was even in the Boy Scouts, which is of course a homophobic organization....most likely the only reason she is angry about his death is that she is mortified that her son actually wanted to serve his country and now all of her leftie friends know her shame...the only way she can recover her cred with the Left is to use her son's death to hammer President Bush.

Does she mean her son was not a "loved one"? I think maybe she has issues with things she didn't say to her son or do for him, and her political agenda is the perfect whip to beat a dead horse. /tinfoil-hat

Just to keep Iraq in perspective, we have lost about 1800 soldiers killed over a little over two years.

One Battle in World War II,Iwo Jima Casualties, KILLED or MISSING, Total 6,821.

Not to minimize the loss of soldiers in Iraq, but it could be a lot worse.

Or did you conveniently forget that fact?
Hmm?
Can't have it both ways troll.

"Ping to Houston FReepers"

Thank You.

If Mrs. Sheehan was by herself doing this effort I think we would all understand. But since she is being brain washed by Code Pinkos and other left radical groups that changes this situation completely. She is now fair game associating with those groops.

It would be nice if a few Texas Freepers would present "The Rest Of The Story".

Developing is not an appropriate term to describe something associated with the dem mindset -degenerating, rotting, decaying, etcetera would be more apropos...

I think someone needs to go out to Crawford and ask this women why she has 2 different stories and than ask a media camer nearby to capture the moment. I would do it but not brave enough to pull that off, but if someone goes down there I sure would love to be there when it happens, LOL!
