Current TV: Currently a Waste of Time New network shares Al Gore’s lack luster personality
Human Events ^ | August 8 | Christopher Flickinger

Posted on 08/08/2005 7:19:56 AM PDT by AnnoyingTheLeft

Al Gore’s new television network, Current TV, hit the airwaves August 1, and it should be off the air by September 1. It claims to be the first national network created by, for and with an 18 – 34 year-old audience, and proudly boasts, “Current is about what’s going on.” But, from what I can tell, after watching the youth oriented channel for an hour and a half, what’s “going on” isn’t much!

The whole trouble with socialists is they are boring and they like to impose their boredom on others which is why they love to drug the kiddies in the public schools.

Socialism is applied boredom.

It's mathematical and cannot be challenged in this universe's current configuration.

The universe, having no respect for the boring, usually wipes it out so:

Socialism = Applied Boredom
Boredom = Catastrophic Death
therefore
Socialism = Catastrophic Death

It's as plain as day.

I tried watching current, I gave it an effort.

I don't care if your liberal, conservative, independent or what.

This "news network" treats its viewers like total idiots (nice to know what Gore thinks of his target audience).

Everyone on the show has the attention span of a 3 year old with ADD (and no meds).

When they aren't putting themselves over or patting themselves on the back, they look bored talking news and you get the feeling most of them don't know, care, or follow any events at all.

How did these guys get jobs?

Let me make it more simple, comparing Current to MTV News, is akin to comparing the news channel of a grade school to CNN or a high school paper with staff made of rejects to the WSJ.

This is going to lose money bad unless they do a total overhaul.

God help us. When the Soros money runs out, he will be gone just like the rest of the attempts by the insane left at radio and TV.

"Al Gore invented television!"

Yes, and that's why it's called "the Boob tube" or "the idiot box."

Gore's new channel will obviously be a socialist/liberal conduit, but buckle up for the new face of broadcast media. The anarchists and globalists win this one- every PC in every home is potentially a broadcast network. You become as powerful as ABC, CNN, etc. Information flux will determine what goes on inside a human mind, not ideology or culture.

Conservatives had better shake out their technophiles and join the lateral connectivity revolution. It will be a world of no censorship, which can transform the 3rd World (Islam) if conservatives are positioned intelligently. Read your Marshal McLuhan- this is the new global intra-social nervous system.

The whole idea is to have young adults tell the stories of their generation.

That should be a short, dull story.
