BUSH IMPEACHMENT IN THE WORKS
Loose-Lipped Hillary Operative Spills the Beans at Town Hall Meeting
Posted by Richard Poe @ Sunday 7 August 2005, 8:57 am

The Impeach Bush crowd is warming up for the big event.  Democrat congressman Maurice Hinchey of New York — a Hillary operative notorious for his loose lips — provided some useful insights into the Democrats’ impeachment strategy in remarks delivered at a July 30 town hall meeting in Ithaca, New York.

Citing the Downing Street memos and the Plamegate controversy, Hinchey stated in a public forum at Ithaca’s Town Hall, “My greatest hope is that all of these things will be revealed, they will be revealed in a very direct and legal context, and that in 2006 a Democratic majority will be elected to the House of Representatives, and in February of 2006 impeachment proceedings will begin.”

Hinchey, an ultra-left Democrat, represents New York’s 22nd Congressional District, which encompasses Cornell University and the artists’ colony at Woodstock, New York, scene of the 1969 music festival enshrined in countercultural legend.

Like Hillary in her 2000 Senate race, Hinchey was cross-endorsed in the 2004 election by the far-left Working Families Party — a front group for the radical cult ACORN, which ACORN established in New York in 1998.

"That would give the pro-impeachment people the control."

===============================

The 'pro-impeachment' people are 99.9% DNC and have no real power other than generating hype and propaganda against the President.

The real torpedo that will hit the GOP in 2006 won't even be from the DNC. It will be from the Republicans alienated by the RINOs who have kidnapped the Republican Party.

The bottom line is that the GOP did it to themselves.

Well, then my original point on this thread is correct.

Politics is a process of alliances. People with congruent issues teaming up to affect (effect?) change. What seems strange is groups of people with competing interests teaming up to nuke the group in the middle, rather than trying to gently pull them in their own direction. It will only make their own fight more difficult in the end.

I consider blaming Mexicans for every problem in this country to be race baiting. It is no different then how the South used to blame all their problems on blacks. Now his teaming up with Pat Buchanan, who likes to blame the Jews for everything, just confirms where Tancredo sits.

The Tancredoites seem to think that anyone who doesn't like or support Tancredo is a "traitor" (Travis McGee and Czar call people traitors continually) and that we support "open borders". Nothing is farther from the truth. We just don't think that a self serving, megalomaniac is the best person to speak on the issue.

Impeachment is, and always will be a political process. It does not matter what the "high crimes" are, if there is political support, any President could be impeached and removed from office.

But impeachment is rare for several reasons. Perhaps the prime one is that neither party really wants to go down the road of when ever one political party holds Congress and the other the Presidency, they attempt to remove the sitting President by impeachment. First, the only result is you move the Vice President up and gained almost nothing. (Unless you can maneuver it so that the Vice President is taken out first as was done with Agnew).

For the left, the 1970s were the high water mark of their movement. They were able to turn the American people against the support of the South Vietnamese, and they were able to bring down first a sitting Vice President, and a President.

They were able to do that because they had control of the flow of information. People believed we were losing in Viet Nam (consider how they turned the Tet Offensive into a victory for the North), and convinced the American people that Watergate was a bigger crime then it was.

President Nixon lost the support of the American people, and he did not have a Senate that would defend him. He took the only way out.

Those days are gone. The left no longer control the flow of information. Their version of “truth” is no longer the only version out in the world.

President Clinton benefited from this new world in that he was able to convince enough people, and keep just enough popular support to make impeach a poison pill for the Senate.

So, for the Democrats to waste their time and money in thinking that they will somehow find something, to charge the President with is, well foolish.

The party leaders should be asking these people, what is the point? The President has three more years to serve. Even if you could bring articles of impeachment (with no more then they have offered so far it is not going to happen, but for the sake of argument, let say they succeed), it would be well into the next Presidential election cycle before it comes to a head. Do the Democrats really want to head into the next election trying to defend their actions?

If the purpose is to harass and distract the President, that too has failed. The left has made so many wild and baseless claims, the President can simply dismiss them as one would an annoying gnat.

The Democrats had a fifty year run, they forgot what it is like to lose. Their friends in the media are not doing them any favor by telling it they just need to get their message out, or they just need to find a weakness in the President. Neither will win them any elections. The world has changed, both because of 9/11 and the Internet and the world of blogs and forums such as FreeRepublic.

They need to propose real solutions to the concerns of the American people. But like a craftsman with only one tool in his tool box, a hammer, everything looks like a nail. The Democrats one tool is taxes. They believe every problem can solved by taking money from one citizen to give to another, not understanding that they are in the end hurting both.

So if the Democrats want to spend thier limited time, energy and funds "dreaming the impossible dream", it is OK by me.

Only two reasons this is happening

1. Payback for Slick Willy
2. Payback for the election of 2000
-----
In general, I agree. But these b@stards are sick anyway. They have NOTHING to put on the table for America -- so their only tool IS OBSTRUCTIONISM AND CHARACTER ASSASSINATIONS. A real pretty group of criminals which a high percentage of the mind-dead populus keeps voting back into office -- God help America.

The Clintons and their ilk are scum. Criminal scum, which is a matter of historical record. That will be their backbone since these carpetbaggers and theives know they cannot sell socialism to America.

If this is really true, and I have a hard time believing that they would try such a stupid tactic, and they try it, it will backfire on them and hopefully bury these charlatan criminals for good.

"Just can't back off the personal attacks now can you? Typical of you and the rest of the Tancredoites."

No personal attacks, just a general observation.

"Hinchey is certifiable. He was the one who, at one of these circle-j, I mean "Town Meetings" said Karl Rove was behind the Rather forgeries. He had no evidence but believed it was important to keep making unsubstantiated charges like that."

Sounds just like the anti-Tancredo posters on this thread...

Now how about responding to my message that actually WAS directed to you, and proving me wrong?

"Notice the person on this thread who keeps spewing about Tancredo. Almost all of the 1-percenters worship Tancredo like he is some kind of god just like they did with his master, Pat Buchanan."

Hm. I think Tancredo is great, and I think that Buchanan is an ass.

Other than both being interested in illegal immigration, they don't have many similarities.

At least they realize they have a couple of things to do before they start impeachment proceedings.

Boy the hatred of these people has no bottom.

"They impeach Bush and then get Cheney to be president for the remainder of the term, and then he runs.......and wins."

They can't think this far ahead. I do wish Cheney would run (I think he's great), and not just because that ugly fool Helen Thomas would then kill herself.

In the words of our President, I say "Bring it on." These impeachment antics will only serve to make the Leftists look petty and partisan. It won't impress anyone but their cheerleaders at MoveOn and Mecca.

This whole thing seems like a perfect recipe for Republicans to demonstrate, once and for all, that Democrats put their party politics ahead of all American interests. I truly believe it will wind up costing them many more seats in Congress in the 2006 elections.

That is one goliath-sized strawman.

No one blames Mexicans for "every problem in this country."

The charge is that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS and OPEN BKRDERS cause VERY SPECIFIC problems.

Thanks to your personal attacks on the honorable Representative Mr. Tancredo, you reminded me that it has been a while since I wrote to thank him for his courage and to support his campaign for re-election with a donation.

I'm sure Mr. Tancredo thanks you for your efforts on his behalf.

Actually .. he could be right .. they could be so delusional that they believe this action will damage the repubs in the 2006 election.

THEY WOULD BE WRONG. I say it will make the repubs so mad they will make sure to get rid of as many dems as possible.

"Which is exactly what the immigration people, err Buchananites/Tancredoites want. They hate the GOP as much as the left ever since we told only Pat to take a hike."

Another misrepresentation.

He works closely with BAY Buchanan, not PAT Buchanan.

Before you call her a nut, keep in mind she was Reagan's campaign treasurer in 1980.

Now she is involved with a PAC that Tancredo helped form.

This is nothing new. In fact this 'news is oh..... about 25 tears old.

In 1980 there were impeachment schemes cooked up fantasized against RR (Iran-Contra baloney), again with Bush 41 (over pardons for Iran-Contra IIRC) and now fantasies about impeaching Dubya about the "fake but accurate" (hahahaha) DSM.

These maggots are utterly delusional.
