If the free Eastern Europeans want to stay free they are wise to eschew any French influences that would put them back under the control of communists in a second if they could.
Good post. A hopeful sign for the future of a free Europe.

The French are good at 3 things:
1) Making cheese
2) Making wine, and
3) Retreating

Since such US technology is not working, it is a crying shame.

TERROR ALERT IN FRANCE Paris, July 7, 2005- AP and UPI reported that the
French government has raised its terror alert level from RUN to HIDE on
their four level danger scale. The two higher French danger levels are
Surrender and Collaborate.
According to informed sources, the rise was precipitated by a fire
yesterday which destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively
paralyzing its military. In light of the recent attacks in London, it
is widely anticipated that the terror alert will be elevated to the
third level before the weekend.

History has a way of eventually outing the truth and it appears possible that France is going to pay long term for their political posturing over the last quarter century.
