The Meeting
Scooter Libby and Judy Miller met on July 8, 2003, two days after Joe Wilson published his column. And Patrick Fitzgerald is very interested.

I. Lewis Scooter Libby, the chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, has told federal investigators that he met with New York Times reporter Judith Miller on July 8, 2003, and discussed CIA operative Valerie Plame, according to legal sources familiar with Libby's account.
The meeting between Libby and Miller has been a central focus of the investigation by special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald as to whether any Bush administration official broke the law by unmasking Plame's identity or relied on classified information to discredit former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson, according to sources close to the case as well as documents filed in federal court by Fitzgerald.
The meeting took place in Washington, D.C., six days before columnist Robert Novak wrote his now-infamous column unmasking Plame as a "CIA operative." Although little noticed at the time, Novak's column would cause the appointment of a special prosecutor, ultimately place in potential legal jeopardy senior advisers to the president of the United States, and lead to the jailing of a New York Times reporter.
The meeting between Libby and Miller also occurred during a week of intense activity by Libby and White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove aimed at discrediting Plame's husband, Wilson, who on July 6, 2003, had gone public in a New York Times opinion piece with allegations that the Bush administration was misrepresenting intelligence information to make the case to go to war with Iraq.

This pretty much confirms that Fitzgerald is still going after Administration figures and not Wilson/Plame or the CIA. He's no friend of the GOP, folks.
One of the lefty blogs also says Newsweak is going to report that Fitzgerald's boss at Justice will be replaced by a former Yale classmate of the President. They're predictabley in an uproar over it. If true, it's a chance for some badly needed oversight over Fitzgerald, I say.
Take what these people say with a grain of salt. I just thought it was "interesting" to see what the lunatics are saying. lol!

It is also unclear whether Miller would testify to Fitzgerald's grand jury even if she were to receive such a personalized waiver from Libby. Her attorney, Floyd Abrams, said in an interview: "
And ...
But Miller's affidavit and other court filings by the Times -- and the narrow language contained therein -- did not say whether Miller might have read or reviewed any documents that might have brought to the July 8, 2003, meeting
Her attorney is indicating that even if Libby was to give a "personal waiver" .. she still wouldn't talk
Also .. it's reported that she spoke to Libby (I'm guessing on the phone) .. nothing about a "meeting"

This is all I need to know...
Miller has been around for a LONG time and her expertise is WMD and the Middle east....The same expertise as Valerie. My guess would be that Miller knew Valerie when she was Plame old Valerie. I believe Novak also knew Plame before she married Wilson.
Remember the dates: July 14, 2003...Novak publishes his article. July 18, 2003...Berger burgals the archives for the first time. There were two other visits after this. I'd say the FIRST time was to "steal" what was most urgent...
What was the first date of Wilson attacking Novak?
bttt
How did she know about it to the point of asking Libby in the first place?
Same thing with Cooper...He engaged Libby and Rove. The big thing is more than likely, in fact, I'd say absolutely, that MANY people in DC knew Valerie Plame before she married Wilson.
"intense activity by Libby and White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove aimed at discrediting Plame's husband, Wilson"
And scholars like Pythagoras and Aristotle discredited people that preached the world was flat!
yes. it's hard to belive this is still going on. was she covert? did rove or anyone in the administration out her? this is becoming a joke and innocents may be damaged. the only pr worse than the WH is the SP office. think of all of the stories out there involving the cia and others. and they are still looking into it. this should have been resolved months ago.
Maybe this is why Berger's sentencing was postponed a few weeks ago. Do you think the SP may have asked the DOJ to withdraw their plea bargain?
Curiouser and curiouser...
Fitzgerald's office is awfully leaky.
This has to be one of the things that Fitzgerald wants Miller to testify about. If you like irony, here you've got New York Times reporter protecting an Administration official.
The WH should just spy on him and have him killed mysteriously.
