The idea has dawned on progressives (I guess they've been listening to Rush) is they need their own ideas. All LIBERALS do is bash, obstruct and ridicule. Ugly, ugly, ugly.

They were always bashing Repubs and everything under the sun, but at least they had SOME ideas and would put forth a positive agenda. Now they're nothing but a bunch of hacks and screamin' meemee's acting like spoiled brat children not able to get their way.

Libs have always been selfish putred prix, but would at least show a little decorum, now they just let all of their real selves show and that has caused their demise.

I think the Clintons previously use the CIA as their think tank, this just might be the result of a cleansing.

...All they need is good ideas, honesty and vision.
If they can fake those things, there's no limit to what they can accomplish...

And there is the problem!!!!
Since FDR they have been faking those things (Liberal/socialist ideas) but the spin machine got out of their control.
Information is power. Conservatives finally managed to break the monopoly of the MSM.
I don't think we will ever see the days when PAPY CRONKITE could tell America to jump and 85% of the population would ask "how high?".

All you need for a liberal think tank is a cigar, a snorkel, some RU486, some embryos to kill, and a NAMBLA pass.

Nah... It's gotta be the fact that there simply aren't enough leftist "think tanks," as if nearly every university campus in the US isn't enough!

You're right, every college in the country, with the exception of one or two isn't enough for them? This is Air America all over again.

can we get a list of the 80 donors ?

Let me give them the first clue: stop insulting middle America and all we cherish. America-bashing just isn't a value!

Dems haven't had a new idea in 40 years...

$80 million to raise? How much of it will come from private individuals and how much will come from "charitable organizations" in the form of loans?

Never fear. When liberals say they're going to pledge something, it means they're going to apply for a government grant. It'll be years before anything happens.

Let me be a bit contrarian here......Given that "conservative" think tanks have been so ineffective in convincing republican politicians to support a conservative agenda - exhibit out-of-control spending - exhibit governmental growth - Why would democrats believe that "their" think tanks would be any more effective?

With all those liberals out there running off at the mouth and writing blogs, you would think at least one of them could tell the truth about the racism of abortion....{of course they can't , because they first have to find out what their moral values are!!!!} Now, we know why they need the think tanks...

You need ideas to run a think tank and the liberals are out of gas.

What a waste of money. The Libs will never be successful with a "think tank" because they can't tell the truth.

It seems oxymoronic to use the words "liberal" and "think" in the same sentence. Liberalism is not driven by logic, it's driven by emotion.

Here's a list but I don't believe it is complete because Rich Lowry spoke on Friday or Saturday. When C-SPAN showed the audience there was always at least 2-300 people.
