Just how much of the "News" is manufactured?

Watching the Dinosaur Media manufacture "news" stories over the last year (i.e. Rathergate, Downing Street Memo Fraud, Joe Wilson and the CIA "Leak" etc etc etc) a thought occurred to me. Journalist try to pass this all off as a "recent" development in Journalism. A product of "Agenda journalism". I am not so sure. I wonder if maybe this sort of thing has been going on all along and it is only the rise of the "New" media that is catching them at it. Makes you wonder what other "Facts" everyone "knows" are nothing more then made up propaganda from a "journalist" with no morals and a perchance for creative writing?

...I believe you folks all to be under the sway of the rightie MSM spin machine... And I believe that you are totally delusional to think that the MSM is anywhere near "rightie".

Journalism 101
News is a construct.
Events occur.
News is made.

Television news is the worst. I would rather suffer in bed with the flu than watch news anchors trying to spin the events of the day as relevant. I have not been a fan of television news since my youth in the Vietnam era dominated by Walter Cronkite. All the talking heads today are over paid jerks who could not think their way out of a paper bag. They are all rather like the "Unknown Comic" who was hot in the 1970's: Idiotic Air Heads. Just visualize a paper bag over their heads. With the exception of a few genuine reporters seen on fewer news shows, most are just worthless imitations. Their opinions are not worth the price of spit.

Wake up and smell the conservative ownership of the media. Clearly the workers are leftie (they are younger, educated and intelligent) but the ownership is old white guys (Rupert Murdoch, hello?). You do the math. You obviously don't have any cites for your ridiculous claims....because there aren't any. To say that big business owning the media outlets automatically makes them purveyors of conservativism is nonsense. I gather you don't have school tomorrow?

It all depends on how far left Mr Motoboy is - it is a perception issue.
If one is far enough left, the MSM appears Right.
Give Mr Motoboy credit for at least self identifying.
Mr Motoboy - next time you are trying to decide if the MSM is left or right, ask when a major news network went with a totally fictitious news story against the Democrat(ic) candidate within 60 days of an election, for multiple weeks. Rathergate was the final straw, especially given that we had been telling the world about Rather and his bias for years. The crime was predicted.
My guess is that you think the Dems are still too centrist. You are entitled to your opinion. But Rathergate was not a mistake a Right leaning media would make. It was predictable and did occur with a Left leaning MSM.

Please support your argument with data.
Your position is "W lied" - please support your statement.

Actually, the ruling class always stridently claims to be on the side of the "little guy". "Workers of the World Unite" means sign up for GULAG.
So, guys who say the give a s... about the "weak, powerless, oppressed, downtrodden, yearning to be free" folks do not care at all. At all. You are being played for suckers. Bite that worm, fish, there is no hook.
Oh, yeah, I was much more Left than you can imagine. Eventually the lies get old.

I was trying to be kind. Calling me delusional is pathetic. Wake up and smell the conservative ownership of the media. Clearly the workers are leftie (they are younger, educated and intelligent) but the ownership is old white guys (Rupert Murdoch, hello?). You do the math. No, I was the one being kind. You claim to not own a TV, yet you somehow consider yourself qualified to judge the MSM as "rightie". What a pant-load. You're just regurgitating democRAT talking points and spin.
Clearly the workers are leftie. Why? Because, of course, they're young, educated, intelligent -- just like all of you self-professed superior lefties.

As long as you are being racist - how old and white is George Soros (hello?)? Is he conservative now too?
Could you please support some of these statements? Maybe you could illuminate me - Am I getting more conservative as I get older, or is it just because I am a white male? Or is it my heterosexuality?

Thanks. Porco Rosso is not well known. I think it is a gem.
The best "after the war" war movie, probably. Predictable Miyazaki, shall we say, "eccentricities" concerning precocious young women.

You are stating the same things I read on bumper stickers here all over WA state ("No one ever died from a BJ" etc.)...And of course this is a VERY liberal place and totally deceived by some of most far-left media on the face of the earth. And I'm supposed to see you as logical, open-minded, fair AND a conservative?? Give me a break.

Calling me delusional is pathetic. You're welcome to say, it's NOT in the low 40s, but you're wrong.
So it's pathetic when someone else does it, but it's something else entirely different when you do it. Almost the same logic as suggesting all conservative folks are swayed by the rightie MSM spin machine, thus liberals are the hapless victims.
You didn't come here to 'see what conservatives are up to'. You came here to sell something. Sorry, I'm not buying any.

"It doesn't change the fact, and I repeat, fact, that the MSM is owned and run by old white guys."
Empty statement. Also profoundly dangerous. Replace "old white guys" with "Jews". Herr Goebbels by any other name would smell as sweet. Down your road is mass murder.
