The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

It's hardly a unique fashion statement for a mass transit rider: a Yankees-style cap, and a "New York" sweat shirt.

But the New York Police Department is teaming with British authorities to determine whether those items were worn by suspects in the London terror cases to send a "purposeful message" to the city, according to an NYPD officials.

David Cohen, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence, raised the concern earlier this week at a security briefing for business leaders at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.

Turkey detains key al-Qaeda figure

TURKISH police have detained a suspected al-Qaeda militant from Syria who they believe was organising an attack on Israeli targets in Turkey, security sources said today.

The suspect, believed to be the top figure in Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network in Turkey, was apprehended in the south-eastern city of Diyarbakir on Sunday as he tried to board a plane for Istanbul, the sources said.

The suspected militant, identified as Syrian national, Luia Sakra, was due to appear in an Istanbul court tomorrow, courthouse sources said.

Judges today ordered the arrest of another Syrian national brought to the court on charges he is Sakra's courier, the sources said.

Police earlier today denied news reports that at least 10 militants linked to al-Qaeda had been detained while planning attacks on foreign-flagged ships.....

"Victim Holds Car Prowl Suspect At Gunpoint (WA)"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A man pulled a pistol on a car prowler here Tuesday morning and held him at gunpoint until police arrived, KIRO TV News reported.

Police credit the man with solving a string of car prowls and helping to recover more than $4,000 in stolen property.

Chuck Estes awoke Tuesday to find the roof of his wife's convertible slashed and her stereo system stolen.

Estes told KIRO TV News South Sound Bureau Chief Richard Thompson that, "One thing I can't stand in life is a thief."

Estes said he was driving through his neighborhood when he spotted a vehicle suspected in the theft from his wife's car.

Estes had a .44-caliber Magnum Smith and Wesson pistol with him. He approached the suspect's car, drew his gun and ordered the teenaged occupant to put his hands on the dashboard.

Estes called police who arrested the 16-year-old boy. They also arrested a 21-year-old man they say was an accomplice nearby.

Police found Estes' stolen stereo equipment in the back of the suspects' car -- along with items police say were stolen from a dozen other residents of the neighborhood."

Seattle was only the port of entry. The real target for that guy was LAX International airport. My dog never went back to her vomit. EeeeeeYUK.

I understand returning to NY that is/was a high value target for a great many reasons. Seattle isn't unless they hope to start an eruption of Mount Rainier and take out a larger chunk of the area.

More motive yet, they may want retaliation for the coffee shops on every other corner and expresso bars everywhere a shack or cart can be placed in virtually every city in the nation no thanks to Seattle!

Don't forget the subsidizing of sixty million Mexicans by the former US taxpayers and free tuition at former American Colleges for all Mexican children, once again, on your dime.

It's sitting on the raw nerve of thousands upon thousands of Americans and getting more irritating by the day..sure we work each and every day to support illegals with our social security funds (and disability income if they complain they have drug problems) - not to mention assisting them with home mortgages when our own children cannot afford to buy a home (grrrrrrrrrrrrr)!
