PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: With the President, First Lady and the dogs relaxing at the ranch this weekend, there are no new photos to post. So I've selected a theme -- GWB and our Armed Forces -- and found many photos to let us enjoy a walk down memory lane. The theme photos are all from early in his presidency. They show GWB's closeness with our military both before and after 9/11/01.
THE WEEK AHEAD:
Monday, the President travels to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He will be touring the Sandia Laboratory there, and then will be making remarks after signing the comprehensive energy legislation that passed recently.
Tuesday, the President is going to have his economic advisors to the ranch. He will participate in a briefing with them on the state of our economy. Afterwards, GWB will make some remarks and participate in a press availability.
Wednesday, President Bush will traveling to Aurora, Illinois, where he will sign the transportation legislation. Aurora is the largest town in the north-central Illinois congressional district of House Speaker Dennis Hastert.
Saturday, tentative, but the President usually participates in an RNC event in August at the ranch. As of yesterday, the President's schedule was not firmed up beyond Wednesday.
QUOTE OF THE DAY Excerpt from the presidential radio address, Saturday, August 6, 2005:
As families across the country enjoy the summer, Americans can be optimistic about our economic future. In the past four years, our economy has been through a lot: we faced a stock market decline, a recession, corporate scandals, an attack on our homeland, and the demands of an ongoing war on terror.
To grow the economy and help American families, we acted by passing the largest tax relief in a generation. And today, thanks to the tax relief and the efforts of America's workers and entrepreneurs, our economy is strong and growing stronger.
This past week, we learned that America added over 200,000 new jobs in July. Since May of 2003, we've added nearly 4 million new jobs. The unemployment rate is down to 5 percent, below the average of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. And more Americans are working today than ever before in our nation's history.
We need to make the tax relief permanent, end the death tax forever, and make our tax code simpler, fairer and more pro-growth.
FRmail Brad's Gramma .. I'm pretty sure she'll have contact info.
Well, I certainly lit your fire, didn't I? LOL .. let's just say that the using is mutual. As far as I know, until her brave son was killed and her venom and bitterness took a public face, she was anonymous. I'm sure her ideology and resentment led her to the protest groups, and then she became all to willing to join with them and they with her.
I am really curious as to who was on that bus. Someone organized that trip. I will try to find out some information about it tomorrow.
But meanwhile, I am going to talk to my local talk radio about this woman.
What I understand from other threads about this woman is that she's been a member of Marxist and Communist groups for many years. I am in no position to judge the relationship she had with her son, or the sincerity of her grief. But the young man died in April 2004. So why is she showing up in Crawford now? Why not last year when her grief was fresh and there was an election on? The answer is because she and her Marxist cronies didn't think of it then. Now they're out for publicity and to raise her profile. You just watch. She's going to be all over the Today show, Good Morning America, and the cable news programs spewing her venom.
Fudd Fan said on the Sunday Talk Show thread today that her husband had been into ABC today doing work on the news programme and word there was that there would be some very sad news in the next few days.

I think it was the Code Pink bunch.
Drudge on now talking about the Times going after Roberts
Sorry it took me so long to respond, I was putting the finishing touches on an e-mail I plan to send FoxNews concerning the recent AP/Ipsos Reid (and Gallup polls) that they keep regurgitating . . . I'll post it here in abit!
After reading your posts, I've developed a DOSE action plan relative to Sheehan/Code Pink:
1.) PRAY
2.) e-mail/call the President and let him know that you support him!
PHONE NUMBERS
Comments: 202-456-1111
Switchboard: 202-456-1414
FAX: 202-456-2461
E-MAIL
Please send your comments to comments@whitehouse.gov. Due to the large volume of e-mail received, the White House cannot respond to every message.
3.) E-mail/call Rush, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Tony Snow, Brit Hume, and so on, and provide them with background information on Sheehan et al!
Rush: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/menu/about.guest.html
Hannity:

Laura Ingraham:

LET'S GET TO WORK!
Thanks for your excellent research once again.
I posted the link you gave for the earlier Sheehan remarks
over on the live Drudge thread. Am listening to him now.
But now she's a commodity ...she's getting attention and fawning from a twisted group of people, but it's attention she craves. She's now the jewel and tool of the left, and they will use her up to suit their purposes until she can't see straight.
I think the effective and credible antidote to her poison is a strong voluntary movement on the part of parents who've also lost loved ones in this war who absolutely disagree with her viewpoint, and I pray a group like that gets angry enough to step up.
I keep thinking about the Mom who was honored by W at the SOTU address .. who hugged the Iraqi Mom.
Let's get Rush, Laura and Hannity to cover this wall to wall tomorrow, and make sure Fox hears it from all of us too!
This lying Marxist can't get away with maliciously using her son's death to further her political cause.
It's vile.
I don't maintain a 'list'; however, I'll make a point to ping you when I post anything informational!
I am gong to make sure that Tony Snow sees those threads!!
Thanks! I appreciate it.
just e-mailed the Prez...now to Rush, Hannity..etc
Wonder if Hannity does at all any more?
Vile is an understatement!
[The burdens/attacks that President Bush must endure . . . Thank goodness he has a STRONG family to support him (and we DOSERS of course)!]
