Petition to the President: Secure Our Borders Immediately

Mr. President, Please Secure Our Borders Immediately

It has been nearly four years since the 9/11 attacks inside our country by foreign nationals. Yet, tens of thousands of foreign nationals every few weeks continue to be allowed to enter this country illegally through our loosely guarded borders. All of these illegal entrants threaten American citizens in one way or another—either as unfair labor competition, tax burdens, instruments of organized crime including drug running and slavery, or as terrorists.

We can no longer allow such disorder on our borders. One of the clearest responsibilities of the federal government and of the President is to protect this country's citizens from attacks across our borders.

We urge you to direct your officials in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to create and institute plans to ensure that foreign nationals who attempt to cross our borders without permission will be (a) detected, (b) apprehended and (c) either removed from this country or detained for appropriate punishment under the law.

While your Administration is implementing long-term sustainable programs to achieve border security, we urge emergency measures that begin to provide the same protection immediately by mobilizing some combination, as necessary, of Border Patrol, other DHS personnel, the military, other federal personnel and technological tools. Various pilot programs at selected locations have proven that zero tolerance of illegal human traffic across our borders is achievable if the federal government places a priority on protecting its citizens. We submit our names with the appreciation of your consideration and action.

I hope this petition is 2-ply, because that is how it's going to be treated.

I agree and signed but lots more needed. Now at 470,000 plus and over 10 million would be nice.

You may be right, but the fact that we have signed it, and that it will be submitted shows the White House that their agenda is very bad for America, its governing documents, its laws, its people, its security, and everything else that is being trashed by OPEN BORDER AGENDAS.

Exactly how much money has Congress appropriated to hire how many new border agents and how many detention beds?

Don't know the exact amount, but we sure don't see any rush to close the borders. And we won't, IMHO. This is election payback, very narrow-minded, selfish upside for business (cheap labor) at the direct expense of the U.S. taxpayer. The only people who are benefitting are the corporations, again all supported by the taxpayer and REAL CITIZEN who is being shafted to pay for all of it to the tune of what, $100 BILLION PER YEAR, or thereabouts nationally? California is $10 BILLION just by itself.

If anyone doubts what the agenda is, who benefits, and who is carrying it out, well just open your eyes and ears.

Not evil, just taking advantage of the quid-pro-quo -- big campaign dollars for cheap labor. But if we had an administration that was concerned about our illegal invasion and the costs to America, these same people would be penalized if they hired criminals in this country.

The picture is clear - there is no rationalization.

BTW, every citizen but one could sign this and the result would be the same. Bush has sold his soul to the illegal immigrant and that's that.

How about you petition Congress for them to appropriate the money to "secure the borders". The President cannot just snap his fingers and order it done without the necessary resources from Congress. It is obvious many here are ignorant of how out government works and think we live in a dictatorship.

Of course the newbie started this thread just to give the Bush haters another one so they whine to b*tch, moan, whine, and spew their irrational hatred.

Greenspan has testified to Congress twice on this:

If you constrict the labor supply, wages will rise. If wages rise without a increase in productivity, the result is inflation.

Chew on that.

There is NO EXCUSE OR RATIONAIZATION for breaking our immigration laws, destroying our soverignty, risking our security, and hosing the taxpayer --- none. If the issue was simply LABOR then it could be done legally and without compromise of the integrity of our country, its laws, its soverignty and security.

CHEW ON THAT.

If wages are too low the tax-payer will make up the difference at the emergency room, in social services, and in education. Bi-lingual education is a real drain on the educational system. Chew on that.

Maybe you should petition Congress to submit your testimony?

BTW, when it comes to the illegals, are you financially threatened or culturally threatened?

Ah yes, if we could only get rid of the poor mexicans, we would all be rich.

I hate to tell you this but income distribution follows the bell curve. Somebody has to be poor. It is a law of economics.

Dumb question. What is threatened is our system of laws (you do know what they are?), our soverignty, which is decaying rapidly when your borders mean nothing, and you really should know the rest, unless you are rationalizing illegal immigration. Threat to me? No. Threat to our country and its key foundations -- ABSOLUTELY.

I refuse to sign any petition that's full of politically correct BS. This one certainly qualifies!
