The percentage of people who say they consider Bush honest has dropped slightly from the start of the year. In January, 53 percent described him that way in the AP-Ipsos poll, while 45 percent said they did not believe he was honest. Now, people are just about evenly split 48 percent saying he's honest and 50 percent saying he's not.
A solid majority still see Bush as likable and a strong leader, but a growing number view the president's confidence as arrogance, up from 49 percent in January to 56 percent now.
The poll of 1,000 adults was conducted Aug. 1-3 by Ipsos, an international polling firm. It has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

So I take it DU is not your home base???
You fail to make your point...........whatever it might be.
You fail to make your point...........whatever it might be.
I'll let you figure that out.
Yes, Rasmussen does a really good job.
Gallup was doing good for awhile .. but lately they have been over-sampling dems too .. which makes me wonder if somebody got to them ..??
But .. over on "the Dose" .. we have Dr Deb who sorts out all the polls for us and gives us the internals so people can see the lying liars in action.
Hey...that's a talking point straight out of the leftists handbook. Everytime I fight with them about the war in Iraq, that's the very first thing they throw at me.
I come back at them with, Germany didn't attack us, but we went to war with them.
What sites do you hangout at?
You pointed out the (obvious and well known) fact that the terrorists were Saudis.
I will assume then, since you asked me to "figure that out" myself, that you HAD no point to make........that your post was irrelevant and meaningless in the context of the discussion.
Thanks for clarifying that.
thanks for the info mike. i no longer take these sorts of polls seriously. the real polls are on election day....
if it doesn't rain ;o)
We were attacked by Saudis on 911. Yet we attacked another country. You find that Irrelevant?
Hey...that's a talking point straight out of the leftists handbook.
My post stands. You are clearly more familier with the leftist hand book than I.
I have been a member of FR from day one, or very shortly thereafter. However, most know that I am not in lock step with the Republican party platform on all issues as many here are. As a fellow Texan that has voted "for" Bush and his father in every election they have run in, I believe I have earned the right to disagree.
The DISCUSSION YOU INTERRUPTED was about THE MESS someone said the President had gotten us in.
Please explain what your point means in the CONTEXT of the discussion.
OY!
In before zot.
June, 2003?? Am I missing something? Banned?
If it was neat and easy, Clinton would have done it.
Sometimes things get a little messy, but that doesn't mean they don't need doing.
Bush warned us that it was going to be a long road.
I think we have a lot further to go.
I respect your opinions, and probably share a lot of them, but with all due respect, can you give me a name of any person with the potential of getting elected that could do one half as credible job in the war on terror as George W. Bush? (And I stress, POTENTIALLY ELECTABLE!)
A poll of 1000 adults that is meant to be applied to the US population in general is completely invalid. The US population is approximately 29 million. That's .0000344% of the population. Any poll under 10% is considered by statisticians and scientific researchers to be unreliable. So, unless they survey 2,900,000, they cannot claim any level of accuracy. Randomness doesn't even matter with a sample that small.
"He is part of the effort to redifine Pres. Bush as a "weak father" and as a dishonest man."
He hee! You have been Bush botted. I give Bush high marks overseas, but a D in domestic....whick is where, of course, we live. Press 1 for English : )
