The percentage of people who say they consider Bush honest has dropped slightly from the start of the year. In January, 53 percent described him that way in the AP-Ipsos poll, while 45 percent said they did not believe he was honest. Now, people are just about evenly split 48 percent saying he's honest and 50 percent saying he's not.
A solid majority still see Bush as likable and a strong leader, but a growing number view the president's confidence as arrogance, up from 49 percent in January to 56 percent now.
The poll of 1,000 adults was conducted Aug. 1-3 by Ipsos, an international polling firm. It has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

My point here is that if we hadn't taken the position on Iraq that we did, the very "containment" you talk about would've subsided. You also conveniently ignore that even with this containment, Saddam and his cohorts were violating the resolutions.
No fly zones are great for planes and protecting the Kurds...but what the hell does that have to do with smuggling weapons in and out of Iraq. You do know that people could still come and go through Iraq...don't you? How the heck did Zarqawi, Abass and Nidal get in? The same way they could've got out with a cache of weapons.
Even after 9/11 these people wanted to eliminate the embargoes...because (in their words) 5,000 Iraqi children were dying each month. And as I said, the embargoes were useless since these people were violating the conditions. How do you think French made missiles from as late as 2002 were ending up being used against coalition forces. Stop being naive. You sound like a fool.
"Fact is, the no fly zones were working perfectly, with no troop loss our our side. And every time they were stupid enough to shoot something at us, we destroyed the targets almost immediately. It got to the point they were afraid to lock on to us. Any thing that moved offensively was destroyed. We could have kept this up indefinitely, regardless of what anyone said.Kind of hard to be a military threat to anything, when you can not even fly an airplane over your own country."
that's great reasoning and it makes sense.
In looking at the demographics of this poll again,(from the PDF of the specific questions asked and of who)the oversampling (almost every category) should have totally blown him out of the water. and it doesn't.
Remember these three words, because there's a 100% chance you'll be seeing them soon:
And what mess would that be?
Please name your priorities.
And why will you be questioning President Bush's honesty in the future?
Thanks--
When the MSM heard about 14 Marine deaths, they screamed, "RUN THE POLL! RUN THE POLL!"
I kill all the termites I can find...around my house. They STILL try to eat my house.
Seems almost every thread I go to some people stray off topic from time to time to other subjects. But unlike you, I don't suggest those people, or you for that matter, be zotted, as you say. That in itself is a little scary.
G'night.
The POTUS doesn't control gas prices. The reason for high gas prices is the increased demand from China.
You're a hoot, small fish. I give you two weeks, at the most. IBZ.
Thanks for that. Have a good night.
