Well, it sure took them long enough. I guess GM got a real wake-up call with the new Mustang and enough people wanted to get their hands on a "modern" '69 Camaro. Rumor has it that the new GTO, A.K.A. Holden Monaro is not long for this world so MAYBE, just MAYBE someone will get with the program and get something inspired by the lines of the '68 or '69 GTO onto showroom floors.

I thought that picture was the latest mustang body style at first. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Bring back the Challengers. I owned two 1970 Dodge Challengers T/A (340 w/ 3 2bbls) 4sp cars. lots of fun. Dodge needs a butt kicking muscle car and a Viper GTS or two!

I just bought the Charger, and LOVE it.
Comfortable, powerful, plenty of gizmos and gadgets, and room for 2.5 bodies in the trunk...

I know a guy nearby that turns out one or two a week - steel bodied with any level of tech or trim you want. Saw one he was working on a few weeks ago that had a mobile computer with WiFi stuffed under the seat - touchscreen in the dash. It booted up when you started the car or flipped a switch. He was wirelessly loading it with 250Gigs of media files when I stopped by.
Anyway, they SAY that the Camaro concept will NOT take any cues from the car pictured...what if it comes out looking like the one from 1971 or thereabouts with the split bumper? That wouldn't be too too bad. If the Challenger is another four door like the new Charger (heard it described as having "Child-bearing hips"), it will last as long as the Xr4Ti.

And those would sell! How stupid is GM? Geez.
Take a simple look at it... boomers finally have enough money to buy some extras. Kids are educated, career has come along. I'm 47. I'm not quite there yet, but in the next couple years, I could "waste" some money on a toy like a Mustang or a Camaro. I drool over the Mustang. I owned a 72 Camaro as a kid. I'd LOVE a "new" Camaro.
But GM shoved out that stupid generic looking GTO with no soul. The SSR is stupid as well. It wants to be a sports truck but isn't quite sporty, and isn't a good truck.
Uninspired, overpriced products. So, what does the playbook say? Blame the workforce.
GM management should be fired, the whole lot of them. Perhaps that's just what Toyota will do when they buy GM?

I have no interest in a new Camaro, but that Challenger *does* look sweet. I might be able to afford one by the time they come out. :)

Hope they make a better body and tranny.
Kick ascz engines but UAW inspired trannys were marginal at best and, well anyone who owned a camaro going through a couple of Chicago winters know what happened.

Don't count on the "new" Challenger to look anything like the "concept" car. The Charger that's on the lots looks nothing like the concept car that preceded it..............
