I am sick and tired of the Israeli's spying on one hand and having their hand out for foreign aid on the other. They received more foreign aid in 2004 then any other country except Iraq (Israel 2.62 billion) but yet they spy and sell our weapons systems to countries like China. What am I missing here?
1) NO foreign aide.
2) NO foreign aide.
3) NO foreign aide.
4) Life imprisonment for spies.
Business as usual, and until we fixed Iraq, the only democracy in the Middle East.
That Israel is the tip of the spear of Western values in the Middle East. And if we weren’t paying them to stand up to Islamic fascists, we’d have to be there to a greater degree. And if no-one was there, they’d be here.
It is hard to blame Israel given their fragility as a nation - in their place I might do the same in the national interest.
That said however, no great nation can allow such behaviour to go unpunished when directed against it (even from an ally and the only fitting sentence should be capital).
While Israel see themselves as an ally of the US which would never knowingly hurt the key US interest so did Britain, yet their carelessness of western secrets cost lives in the Burgess-Maclean scandals. If allied spies get lighter sentences more allies will spy.
I don't approve of that at all. But that aspect may be what you were missing.
P.S. Incidentally, we do the same thing -- listening in, for example, on their internal communications. We want to know what they know.

Israel has been known to spy in the USA for decades and they won't stop as long as they know that it pay off in the long run. Well, it has piad off for them in the intervening years at the expense of our military personnel.
Oh, don't forget also the Israelis sale of our military secrets to the Chinese. Despite their being admonished by several administrations, they have continued to sell us out to our enemies. All this as we continue to send billions of dollars to them. Expect a few more billions going their way for recompense of withdrawing from the occupied Gaza strip.
Unfortunately, the only group standing between the destruction of Western civilization and the Isamonazis. I know it isn't perfect, but some of us (Jews, that is) carry a gene which sows the seeds of our own destruction. European history is rife with examples.
Either they are with us or against us. Make an exapmple of these two sorry asses. The true Jewish people will stand with us through thick and then. NSNR
