My blue-eyed light brown haired grandparents had nine kids. Some have dark Brown hair and brown eyes and some are blond/blue and every combo in between. Genetics is a curious thing. My siblings are blond, I am not, never was, we all have the same parents, we look similar but we do not have the same coloring, same with my dad's sibs, they look a like but the coloring is all over. There are a heck of a lot of Europeans in South America. We are also over-looking a method of adoption, that is very popular amongst those who are wealthy. Advertising to pay the expenses of a girl in trouble, who wants to have the baby but not adopt it. This is a big thing with Priests for Life and other agencies. That way the young lady is taken care of and the baby is adopted privately not through an orphanage.

I hear ya about the genetics thing. I use myself as an example to the kids every year. My dad was 6'3" and my mom was 5'2". I got my moms genes for height (5'2"). My dad had clear blue eyes and my mom had dark brown eyes. I got my dads genes for eye color (green blue color)

You're right about how interesting genetics can be. My granddaughter is 1/4 each Irish, Italian, Armenian, American Indian. Her mother is very exotic looking with dark complexion and green eyes. She is fair, with sandy colored hair and big blue eyes. Still waiting to see what my new (3 month old) grandaughter will look like....she's 1/4 each Irish, Italian, Spanish and Norwegian! Can't really tell her coloring yet. I think it's awesome thinking about the spectrum of looks in this new global world of ours.
