There are many, many blonds living in Latin America, and many people who are not of Hispanic descent (there are many blond Spaniards, too, incidentally - many Latin Americans are dark because of Indian or African heritage, not the Spanish component).
I would also suspect that there are probably homes for unwed mothers there that European women who do not want to abort go to in order to get away from the pro-abortion pressure in their home countries. One of the things that certain pro-life organizations do is provide places for middle and upper-class European/American women to stay while they have their babies. Most homes run by pro-life groups are directed at poorly educated young women from underclass or very troubled backgrounds, and ignore the fact that abortion is rampant among middle-class, middle- aged women - who are under a lot of pressure and have no place to go.
Many of them give the babies up for adoption afterwards, but one of the problems is that the pro-abortion lobby has worked very hard to make American (and most European) adoption law so anti-adoption that this is becoming harder and harder.
Adoption is something the pro-abortionists despise. Remember this. They are trying to destroy it here by making it conditional. You never know when drug-addicted mother, absent father, or the court on its own volition is going to surface and take the child away from you.
This kind of press is not good for adoption of babies of any background :( I forsee more IVF clinics, etc. in our near future.
Which is why so many people adopt from overseas. It isn't a racial issue, it's the knock at the door from some relative and their lawyer three or four or five years later who wants the child back. Even if you win, the stress and money involved isn't worth the risk.
I agree with you 100% and was making the same point you are. Cyborg took exception (see post 185)
