A path-breaking new study by Robb Willer, a Cornell doctoral candidate in sociology, finds that, as Willer tells the Cornell University News Service, "if you made men more insecure about their masculinity, they . . . tended to support the Iraq war more":
Willer administered a gender identity survey to a sample of male and female Cornell undergraduates in the fall of 2004. Participants were randomly assigned to receive feedback that their responses indicated either a masculine or a feminine identity. While women's responses were unchanged regardless of the feedback they received, men's reactions "were strongly affected by this feedback," Willer said.
The men who were told they were effeminate were not only more likely to support the Iraq war but also to support "homophobia," by which Willer apparently means adhering to the traditional definition of marriage.

DW study: Liberals don't support war because they are insecure in their manhood and want women to think they are sensitive.

This is absurd. And I suppose if men feel "more secure," then it's only logical that they'll turn into wussified Milquetoasts for feminists and other Leftists?
What a load of crap.

Willer administered a gender identity survey to a sample of male and female Cornell undergraduates in the fall of 2004. Big mistake from the get-go. I wouldn't try to divine anything meaningful from information gathered from a sample of Cornell undergrads!

A real man (one who is secure in his masculinity) will, when facing an aggressor who means to do him bodily harm, will:
Turn
Run
Hide
Whimper like a girl
Collaborate
That's what my French teacher always said.

Liberals don't support war because they are insecure in their manhood and want women to think they are sensitive have "pity sex" with them. There. Clarified it.

Look at this crap! A bit of advice from a 40 year gyrene... Don't expect liberals to understand courage, honor, or sacrifice. Look on nonsense like this as entertainment.

The researcher used Cornell undergraduate "males" as his test subjects. And he only used 111 or so, hardly a decent sample of men.
