I find our policy just crazy. Our finest and best should not be dying for a police action. Marines are trained to wage war, not be cops.

There is no excuse for the Iraqi Army not to be doing this police action. If it is our fault we did not train them, then we screwed up but that should not stop us from pulling out entriely.

If it is the Iraqis fault in that they do not want to fight for their own freedom, then we should pull out at Warp Factor 9 speed.

This is way beyong sickening and unnecessary.

They were waging war...Haditha is the next Fallujah....someone in the terrorist camp just announced by the Marine killings yesterday and todays dead....that there is something of value in that stinking town.

The Marines will now dismantle the hell hole now to see what that something is...

A huge can of whoop ass is about to get opened on Haditha.

This is exactly why this war was such a bullsh!t operation to begin with -- because it was inevitably going to end up in the kind of nation-building crap in a Third World sh!t-hole that this president was so strongly opposed to when he was a candidate in 2000.

...There is no excuse for the Iraqi Army not to be doing this police action....

Yes, there is.

It isn't any Iraqi army...

Those pour souls who didn't got blown up at te recruitment centers are not soldiers...
For years this is the only way to get some income, so they sign up to get some money to feed their family.
And if someone gives them hundred dollars to tell the terrorist where is the next patrol will go, they tell...

The "real" soldiers with proper training and purpose, the Republican Guard and the Fedayen enjoys the support of large segments of the population for over 2 years.
They are happy to train the "would be" terrorists, the desperate youngsters who can not see much future there.

I guess if Bremer did not mess up the situation by outlawing them, this problem would had passed long ago with less casualty on both side.

...If it is the Iraqis fault in that they do not want to fight for their own freedom...

Yes .... but they did not asked for it .... not this way anyway... Maybe they have a different images of freedom than they see everyday, and they do not feel to pay for THIS kind of freedom...

I totally agree with your comment. It is easy to say "pray for the family and loved ones" but that is no consolation to us who have brothers, sisters, husbands, wives fighting in Iraq. My heart dies everyday when I read the press releases from MNF (Multinational Forces) saying that we have lost more brave Americans in this conflict. I have supported President Bush all along but now I want our boys and girls back home. This situation in Iraq will never improve. Thse people have been fighting with each other since the advent of civilization in the Mesopotamia. If they want a Shiite theocracy, so be it. Let the Shiite run over all the Sunnis who are the real troublemakers here and bring our boys back now. President Bush is sinking very quickly in the latest polls and it is because we all are having Iraqi fatigue and the best way to deal with it is to bring back our heroes and use them to protect our borders...honestly, I don't give a rat's ass what happens to Iraq, let their own protect each other.
