Well, in this case I'm not really talking about a border. I'm talking about Damascus.

And of course the real training camps are the religious schools in Saudi Arabia.

"I registered here this morning and I'm a moderate "

Yeah, right.
I've heard that before.

"I've been visiting FreeRepublic everyday for over a month now - at first, just for laughs."

I bet.

"That is, some of you are just as nutty in your own way as some of the nutjobs on Democratic Underground."

And if asked to provide links, are you going to link to known DU trolls?

"The majority on both sides are hard-working Americans just trying to bring up their kids..."

Like Khephra who died in his moms basement face down on the keyboard in his birthday suit?

"So please, take a breath before you accuse all the democrats of secretly being happy when our soldiers die in Iraq."

Oh, so the Dem idiots who held up the sign that said "We support the troops when they shoot their officers" was an hallucination?
Imagine that.

"It's not good news for anybody other than our enemies."

And some of those enemies are right there in the Dem party.

I registered here this morning and I'm a moderate

Most of us here caught on years ago to the fact that the word 'moderate' is nothing but a deceptive codeword for 'liberal'.

Enjoy your (very probably short) stay.

Do you take the same obscene delight in showing dead bodies that your terrorist friends in Iraq do?

Go to Hell.

That is so true. It should be a policy to find out everyone who had anything to do with these schools -- funding, teaching, etc. Those people and their families and associates should be hunted down and executed with incredible violence. They are truly the most evil. I just wish there was a covert operation to start taking out these scum. If we didn't need the Saudi's damn oil, I would not care if we nuked the entire country. Islam is an evil cult and anyone who follows Islam will find a final resting place in Hell.

I believe the count went over 1800 with the fallen snipers yesterday.

I neither count bodies nor do I have any yellow ribbons. I've been turned off yellow ribbons since the Jimmy Carter Iran debacle.

They are all from a Reserve unit and that raises many questions regarding preparedness.

I agree that Bush MUST do more about our own borders. But it is clear that there are less terrorists to come here when so many of them are tied up in Iraq. They realize that right now, that's where their front line is. If we are successful there...and we are going to be successful, then they know they have lost a major part of the war.

As to how people who are over there feel...read through this thread, I believe there are several who have been or are there.

My own contacts tell me that the vast majority understand the stakes and are willingly there...many volunteering fore multiple tours in country because of the importance...and almost universal anger at the MSM for not supporting the great good that is being done throughout Iraq in the vast majority of the country where the fighting is not occurring.

The link I provided in post #382 is from a soldier that is in Iraq for the third time as a VOLUNTEER. It is an excellent letter he wrote and shared.

Thank you very much. Our finest are sacrificing much and risking all to defend our freedoms and defeat this enemy. They that have been there and seen what we are doing in Iraq, while risking their own life's blood in so doing, continue to amaze and humble me. God bless them each and every one.

Finally I just wanted to state one more time, Iraq is the whole bag of marbles, if our ideas win there, then militant islam will wither on the vine and eventually die. If we lose in Iraq, the world will become a much darker place where the evils of the past such as slavery and holy wars will become the norm. I ask the people of America this question; We are the last hope for this planet to realize its potential, the europeans are too weak to do it, what kind of world do we want for our children to live in? I made my choice, and now I leave to do what I believe is my duty. God bless my family, God bless our brave men and women in uniform, God bless all Americans and God bless America

God bless and keep him...God bless and keep them all.

Great post. Does he speak for the majority of the soldiers? It seems the raging debate (minus the Left, since their hypocrisy is useless)) is whether we continue on as we have been in order to minimize civilian casualties and foster democracy. Some are saying just take out the enemy by whatever means possible in order to minimize our own casualties. I would think the one's fighting there would know best, since it is their lives on the line.
