In my opinion, he's probably not a child molester.

It seems to me that he's taking an extremely difficult approach to locating the kids.

He's become too visible.

If it was someone aimed at terrorism at children, there are many thousands of schools, buses and after-school services to target.

It would almost seem that the most likely possibility of criminal intent would be that he's casing houses to see which are empty at a certain time for robbery. Posing as a salesman would help him find out which had latchkey kids at home in some cases.

I'd get with a few other parents and visit the police together, asking them to check your neioghborhood regularly for a period of time.

This is a good idea. I will drive through the neighborhood tomorrow and see if he's around.
