In CA, as well as DE and NY the way the socialists have gotten around that lie is to use tax revenue to claim the bans do not hurt..........what they fail to inform you is that they include catering, take out, fast food and to-go liquor sales in those numbers.
They did it in Delaware.........after decades of fighting the sale of alcohol on Sunday, within months after the ban went into effect package stores and then taverns were permitted to be open on Sunday. Boom, no decline in alchol revenue....which is all a crock of BS, but it's typical liberal feel-good BS, therefore it's OK.
Stopped on the way back in a little local pub that's been in business for years for lunch (they serve great burgers.)
In the past, this place was jammed to the rafters on a Saturday.
There were four other patrons in the place when we got there.
Three of them smoked (so did the bartender.)
The conversation naturally turned to the smoking ban and the barrenness of the place.
The bartender unequivocally stated that business "sucked" and that the smoking ban was killing them.
Of course, it's a workingman's pub, so just as well.
They're not as enlightened as their betters.
You know, the ones who were panting at the chance to flock to such a place, if only it weren't for the stinky smokers.
Any of them that do are braindead as to the attendance at their favorite local places...or wondering why those favorites just kinda faded away.
