Did you ever read Neal Stephenson's Diamond Age ? He makes an amazing description of the casual use of all that miniature mites/dust, nano and not.

I have frequently recommended Diamond Age on FR threads. Most of Stephenson's work has not impressed me (too long and unfocused). But "Diamond Age" should be read by anyone who cares about Science Fiction or nanotecnology.
