DNC: Bush Should Stop Playing Games with Physical Fitness (It takes a village Alert)
Democratic National Committee ^ | Today | Josh Earnest

Posted on 08/02/2005 9:11:23 AM PDT by rarestia

WASHINGTON, Aug. 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following is a fact sheet released today by the Democratic National Committee:

The White House this weekend announced that President Bush received good news during his annual physical. Doctors pronounced the President to be in "superior" physical condition, which media reports attributed to his rigorous, six day a week exercise routine. While President Bush has made physical fitness a personal priority, his cuts to education funding have forced schools to roll back physical education classes and his Administration's efforts to undermine Title IX sports programs have threatened thousands of women's college sports programs.

"President Bush's has dropped the ball when it comes to fully funding physical education in public schools and women's athletic programs at the college level," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Josh Earnest. "His personal habits indicate that physical fitness is not just fun and games for him. Don't our kids deserve the same opportunities to be physically fit? President Bush should stop running from his responsibility and make sure that all American children have access to physical fitness programs."

This press release is Exhibit A for Democrats having lost all ability to think clearly when it comes to anything related to President Bush.

Is it possible for a Demonrat to speak without lying?

Theoretically, but since Zell Miller left politics, it hasn't been observed.

All this and a fitness role model too?! The DNC has been a whistling tea kettle like never before.

"his cuts to education funding have forced schools to roll back physical education classes..."

I remember PE classes - hardly enough exercise to keep you fit. I couldn't agree more, the government is not responsible for keeping you in shape. But that doesn't stop them - HERE COMES THE DNC - "We'll make sure no one is ever fat, unfulfilled, unemployed, uneducated, even gets their feelings hurt. Free rides and no responsibility for anyone - YEAH!"

Its playing outdoors after school that keeps kids fit. We couldn't wait for the bell to ring so we could start our neighborhood pickup games of 4 man football. played til we couldn't see the ball.

Every obese fat person has an excuse and you all get to keep them. Want to know how to lose weight? Turn off the TV or computer, exercise a little food discipline, and for crying out loud, at least walk 20 minutes a day.

So now it is the government's job to drag people/children out of thier homes and require them to become physically fit. Do that many people really want their government to become their parents?? This crap makes me sick.

We have the biggest budget of all time and guess what, the Democrats still whine about "funding." It's never enough for these a-holes. That's why we shouldn't worry about finally really cutting back funding - because these tools will piss and moan anyway.

And how hard is it to fund physical fitness? Running around the block for 30 minutes is exercise! It doesn't take funding to do that.

Where is the funding to help Hillary with her obesity problem? Under federal guidelines, she is OBESE.

Uh, yeah, sure. Without federal funding, kids can't go ride their bike or go play in the backyard.

Exactly. I do calisthenics in my living room. All it takes is initiative.

Hershey's may want to get ahead of the lawsuits and put warning labels on their candy bars.

Fat people are the canaries in the mine shaft of freedom. Last time a nation got "serious" about physical fitness they raised hell all over Europe, and called themselves Nazis.

"How dare the president be fit, while so many many Americans are fat."

The DNC is adrift, to the relief of all.

Actually, it's Bush's job. Remember the Clinton years when everyone was fit and trim, and we all lived in Utopia. </sarcasm>

That was my experience too. A total waste of time, money and resources.

I trust it was tackle football (like I remember).

The party of forced taxation in the name of physical health is upset that Bush is *too* healthy.

What's next? Will they suddenly decide the "moron" Bush is too smart for them, too?

At home she's got a bicyle, a pool, a volley ball net and we set up a socceer goal....

It's not the governemnt's job to see to it that my child gets excersize - it's mine.............
