A 16-year-old girl who had been missing since Saturday was found stabbed to death and dismembered — and police say her killer lived right next door.

Jonathan Zarate, 18, appeared Monday in Morris County Court to face charges of murder, weapons offenses, and hindering apprehension in the slaying of Jennifer Parks. Zarate lived next door to Parks in their Randolph, N.J., neighborhood, and prosecutors say the 16-year-old victim left her house early Saturday morning to watch TV with Zarate. But then, authorities said, the two became embroiled in an argument that led to Parks' gruesome killing.

The misuse of "allegedly" is one of my pet peeves. Every crime is "alledged" unless it involves a Republincan. As in, "Karl Rove revealed CIA agents identity, address & home phone number!"

This reminds me of a case in IL where I am from. A teenage girl kills another in her car while in a Taco Bell parking lot. The girl had been lured by the other girl and a teenage boy to go to lunch and then beat her to death with a wooden broom handle, then dismembered her body and buried it in 2 seperate locations. The case has not yet gone to trial. Evidently the one girl was jealous over the others popularity, as she was a new student, just recently arrived from Texas.


The brutality that young people today are capable of is just astounding. I think that they have become desensitized by the media and even in some cases, their own families. They don't see people as people anymore. Just objects. How else can one explain being able to slaughter others in this manner?

Something about this case, especially this part, makes me think of the Natalee Holloway case. Why was this 16-year old girl going over to an 18-year old boy's house, early in the morning, to "watch TV"??? Anyone want to wager that the "argument" they were having was about sex, or lack thereof?

The legal presumption of innocence continues despite a confession or even being caught in the act. A defendant is "allegedly" guilty until judged guilty in a court of law. If that annoys you, sorry: it's the law.

I confess to being older than dirt, but in my high school days, I recall a girl being banned from school grounds for pulling another girl's hair--a serious yank. At the time, it seemed brutal. Compared to what goes on now, it almost seems like nothing at all.

A fitting punishment for this perp has never even been imagined in the twisted minds and souls of any known, human demon. Somehow there is a smidgen of comfort in knowing that.

In the People's Republic of New Jersey, Mr. Zarate can be assured that whatever the outcome of his trial, his life is safe. They have mass murderers on death row in Jersey who have been there for decades and despite a law restoring the death sentence, the State Supreme Court, presently headed by the appointee of bird-brain (as stated by Ann Coulter) Chrissie Whitman will assure they find something defective in his trial to keep him safe and sound.

Also, since the murder was not "premeditated" and he just apparently spontaneously went berserk, beat, stabbed and dismembered her, its unlikely he'll even face the death sentence.

JUSTICE IS TOO IMPORTANT AN ISSUE TO BE LEFT IN THE CONTROL OF PROSTITUTING ATTORNEYS IN THE LEGISLATURE.

They just insure their own livelihood.
