Residence Permit - Foreigners - Aruba

Foreign citizens who intend to stay in Aruba for a period longer than 3 months (90 days) need to apply for a residence permit.

Foreign citizens that would like to work in the Aruba need an employer that sponsors their work permit. Tourists are not allowed to engage in any paid activity in Aruba.

The work permit is in addition to the residence permit, these are two separate requirements. In general, a residence permit does not allow employment.

How to apply for a residence and/or work permit

Visitors* wishing reside and/or work in Aruba for a number of months must have a formal residence and also a work.
The person concerned can apply for a residence person him/herself. One of the requirements is that you need to submit proof of your financial means to cover the intended stay
The future employer needs to arrange / apply for the work permit.

* Definition of a visitor

A 'visitor' is a person who visits Aruba for the purpose of recreation, sports, health, family reasons, study, religious purposes or business and does not take up any gainful occupation during his/her stay on the island.
