".. he was involved in "procuring" Natalee to some men for other pleasures, so that MAYBE, just maybe, some day she may come back alive."

But time is our enemy. She cannot hold out forever, and may have been addicted to heroin or cocaine by now. Furthermore, the kidnappers will not keep her indefinitely, given the danger of being caught with her.

I saw that interview and think that the girls were intimidated. And she was sying that they knew the cell was in Natalee's room by that time so they didn't call it. That was my take. She seemed like a deer in the headlights and Nancy is a fast interviewer, sort of aggressive. I suspect they know more but are not saying, whether warned not to say or not, I don't know.

but she didn't seem nefarious to me.

What would they be hiding? Heavy drinking?

But a role in the disappearance, how could that be?

What is your scenario? Have you thought the girls were involved in her disappearance? Or just that they aren't fessing up to the partying?

The transcript of interview last night with Nancy Grace:

KATHERINE WEATHERLY, WAS AT CARLOS AND CHARLIE`S WITH NATALEE: Yes.

GRACE: Hi, dear. Thanks for being with us. Now, were you there that night at Carlos and Charlie`s?

WEATHERLY: Yes, ma`am. I was there.

GRACE: What did you see? Did you see Joran Van Der Sloot there?

WEATHERLY: Actually, Natalee -- I was with Natalee. We were all together, dancing, and Natalee was only with Joran towards the end of the night. But I did pass him. I didn`t really even notice him. And that was it.

GRACE: So when you saw him later in the evening with Natalee, what were they doing?

WEATHERLY: I didn`t see him later in the night with Natalee. I saw him in passing, and that was it.

GRACE: OK. How was Natalee that evening?

WEATHERLY: She appeared fine. She wasn`t acting out of control or anything so...

GRACE: Did you see her when she left?

WEATHERLY: No, I did not see her.

GRACE: Had you already left?

WEATHERLY: Well, Carlos and Charlie`s closed at 1:00 o`clock, and when it closed, everyone was getting in taxis at the same time and it was really chaotic. And I got in a taxi, and everyone just thought that everyone would get home OK. There were so many people leaving at one time, it was just...

GRACE: OK. Hold on. Am I getting Claire Fierman yet, Elizabeth (ph)? OK. I`m hearing...

CLAIRE FIERMAN, WAS IN ARUBA ON GRADUATION TRIP WITH NATALEE: Hey, sorry. It`s sort of breaking up.

GRACE: Hey, Claire.

FIERMAN: Hey.

GRACE: Claire, did you see Joran Van Der Sloot that evening?

FIERMAN: Did I see him? I`m sorry, I -- (INAUDIBLE) breaking up. No, I`ve never seen him. I wasn`t at Carlos and Charlie`s, and I`d never seen him -- I`ve never seen him ever.

GRACE: Claire, when did you realize Natalee was not there to return home?

FIERMAN: The next morning, I was on an earlier flight than everybody else, and Francis Ellen (ph), one of our friends, came and found me and Katherine in the airport and told us that Natalee wasn`t flying home, that they did not know where she was.

GRACE: But to Katherine Weatherly. Katherine, when did you realize that Natalee wasn`t there to return home?

WEATHERLY: I realized the same time as Claire, actually, but at the time, we thought maybe she slept in. We didn`t -- I mean, we were very concerned, but we thought...

GRACE: What did you do?

WEATHERLY: ... she would be coming home. We -- well, we had to get on the plane immediately after that, and we got on the plane...

GRACE: Nobody tried to call her?

WEATHERLY: Oh, yes. People -- we were getting -- her cell phone was in her room at the time. She didn`t take her cell phone with her.

GRACE: Did you try and call her before you got on the plane?

WEATHERLY: No. We knew that she didn`t have her cell phone with her, so there was no point in calling, if she -- because -- well, they -- I wasn`t there when they realized that she was missing. I was told in the airport. But I know that other people did, and -- but realized that she didn`t have her phone with her.

GRACE: Why would anybody know she didn`t have her phone with her?

WEATHERLY: Because they saw her phone in the hotel room. She hadn`t taken it out with her that the night.

GRACE: OK. It just seems to me that everybody keeps their cell phone with them. Why wouldn`t she have it that morning? But you`re telling me people did try to call her, right?

WEATHERLY: No. Well, no. They -- no. They didn`t -- everyone knew -- when the next morning that her cell phone was there. I was just saying that we would have tried to call her. I don`t know if people actually did try and call her or not, but the people that were in her room knew that she hadn`t had her phone that night.

GRACE: Right. Right.

First she says she was with Natalee and didn't see her with Joran until the end of the night. Then she says she never saw Natalee with Joran, just in passing.

Be sure and read the confusion about the cell phone. It is remarkable.

I thought there was confusion in the questioning and the breaking up of the connection. It seems, in reading the interview, that the girls had in their minds what they wanted to say. And that at the airport everyone knew nat was missing and her cell was in the room.

And I think she was saying she saw Joran and saw him and Nat dancing, but didn't go talk to them.

I kind of think it is a difficult thing for a teen to be interviewed by phone by Nancy Grance and answer questions. People who are not used to it do stammer, studder and come off as not articulate.

But how is that suspicious, do you have an idea of how they are related to the crime of the evening?

Just for fun, let's say that Natalee came back to the area around the hotel and a "friend or friends" saw her by the beach. Let's say there was a confrontation or argument and maybe Nat walked away and they never saw her again and they feel responsible. The one girl alluded to the fact that Natalee returned to the hotel, then when pressed, said, "let's just leave it at that."

I also after rereading, realized that she was telescoping what she personally knew and what she had been told. I think she was told that nat was with Joran later in the evening, she knew from what she was told that they left together. She didn't see it. And I think at the airpport she was told nat was missing and that the cell was in the room. So she didn't call.

It was a confusing disjointed interview via phone with connection breaking up so it came across that way.

One woman apparently was given drugs and she was gang raped by some Russians aboard. They took a video of it. Two others were harrassed some way.

I guess that is possible but there is nothing to point to that. Beth is sure that nat never returned to the hotel. Theree were kids at the pool and they could see the beach. I doubt that a group of teens would keep silent about that. These are not street hardened kids, the girls seem pretty soft and I doubt they could keep quiet about that. With all that is going on.

There isn't anything even suggesting that.

They pretty much have stonewalled it already haven't they?
It should get interesting shortly but even more frustrating for the families. I think it's going to take more than Beth saying the word "boycott". Especially in light of the twist and turn it's taking now. Scary!! Someone must come up with an answer as to how this all needs to be handled now, in other words fight fire with fire, but HOW???

The friendship/alliance between PVDS and VDS is obvious. Yet, Greta seems unaware of this.

I don't think this is obvious at all and I think Greta is doing good journalism here. It might be true and you might be right. But just because someone has worked with or for another person doesn't mean that they are close. Think about your own associates. And from what I've heard, J may not be VDS's godson. So much of what we've heard is rumor that I don't know what is true and what isn't. And I believe that a lot of "facts" that have been released are intentional red herrings, so I've begun looking at the "facts" of the case more sceptically.

However, I agree with you that VDS is involved with the cover-up. But that doesn't mean to me that he's protecting PVDS. I've thought all along that the whole island is complicit because there's a much darker and deeper mystery that they don't want uncovered. Natalee's disappearance threatens that, but I really haven't seen a lot of evidence that the Van Der Sloots are beloved Arubans. Maybe they are, but I'm not assuming that. At least not at this point.

I thought she had been told Nat was with Joran toward the end of the evening but she didn't see it herself.

She knows more no doubt, but why do you think what she knows is related to the crime rather than a personal knowledge that she might have been three sheets to the wind?

That is what I am wondering, what you and Varina are suggesting. Do you think the girls are involved in the crime?

"...then when pressed, said, "let's just leave it at that."

Natalee and the girls returned to the hotel/casino briefly between the concert on the beach and going to C & C's.....this is where joran said 'nobody goes out sunday mights beacause, etc' upon discovering they were going to C & C's......others have said that they thought it odd that joran showed up at C & C's after making this comment.

This is how the "leave it at that" comment has turned into the aspersion it has become.

They are covering something up and I think and have thought that they know Natalee returned to hotel area that night, what happened next is anyone's guess. How hard have these girls been pressed with their discrepancies and there are quite a few if you go back from the beginning?

I don't think they're covering things up that would help the case..

I think it's more that all those kids were partying so hard they really don't remember what was what. And that's one of the reasons they're so reluctant to say anything - because they really don't remember clearly. Plus with the months passing what they really saw and what they've HEARD is just muddled in their minds.

We've heard that Natalee's very close friends were not on the trip. If that's the case - she probably wasn't REALLY tight with anyone person or group on the trip. I also think that is what made her vulnerable.

I've looked and looked at her pictures.. in more candid ones at home she looks more confident. In the picture of the four girls on the beach she doesn't look as confident to me.. her shoulders are sort of slumped.. (which you don't really see in pictures from home).

You may be right - she may have had some "words" with one or two of the girls that evening.. whatever the case for some reason she was the one picked out. I think it was because she was the most vulnerable. All four of the girls in the picture are equally attractive.. the other three seem to have a higher level of confidence.. in that one picture.

When they show the flag and dance routines, I do not think she looks confident at all.

If PVDS really did say, "no body, no crime"

I've been thinking about that lately. Do we really know that PVDS said that? Or is that part of the rumor mill we've accepted as fact?
