If that's the way you see it, then all the rest is wasted energy.
Thanks for the new thread, TK.
I don't know if this is important, but last night on Nancy Grace, she had a graphic of the area around the HI, the Marriott, and the pond, showing their locations in relation to each other.
Off to the side of the Marriott was an area called "Lovers Lane" which I had not seen mentioned before.
Lovers Lane seems to run to an area that she had labeled "Dirt Tracks", and then the dirt tracks ran on over to the pond where the 3 were spotted.
Maybe they were not at a beach area, but over in the Lovers Lane. Not sure how significant it is, but perhaps all the beach talk and mention of them taking her to the hotel(s) is to cover up the Lovers Lane.
Has anyone else heard talk of Lovers Lane?
Of course, this is all his theory. I have a theory, too. Do you think I'll get invited to discuss it on cable TV?
Natalee wasn't stupid. She was just nieve in that she would have never thought she was going into a bad situation. I've been there in my younger days and can't believe i walked away from something that could have turned horribly wrong. She wasn't stupid. She was a very bright girl who just was having a good time and didn't think she could have gotten into trouble. It is sad really. Even the smartest person can be nieve in a situation if they have never faced it before.
His theory is based on the other case he has handled, which I mentioned.
A very similar case, except the groom survived in that one.
His theory in the missing case is based on an actual case that he has personal experience with.
> So are we going to start blaming cruise lines for
> the irresponsible behavior of their guests?
No. But people traveling to/on these destinations need to
know how weak-to-nonexistent their recourse is when "bad"
things happen.
> Good grief, there is a common thread to these incidents.
Indeed - personal irresponsibility abounds in the top
two in the news.
We only even hear about the egregious cases (and the
epidemics). Most of the thefts, rapes, assaults, esp.
on the ships, get very effectively and quietly covered
up / bribed away.
Evidence is leading to a date rape drug and subsequent videos of the rape. Appears to be a common occurance. Larry King is doing some pretty thorough coverage.
Yes I saw that map texasbluebell and was hoping that possibly that it would show up somewhere on the net.
I'm not saying there aren't instances of rape where a person who is not impaired by alcool or drugs they have knowingly consumed gets victimized. I AM saying that these things can generally be avoided by being careful not to trust strangers and over indulge in drinking. There are 2 to 3 thousand people on every cruise ship that leaves port, plus crewmembers from around the world. There are going to be crimes wherever you have all these elements.
I think Natalee is missing is partly her fault. I think she was drinking to much or drunk to make any rational judgements(could have been avoided) drugged (wouldn't be able to control) and raped/killed. She / everyone has to have some personal responsibility for their actions. Sadly she was in no condition to save herself. Not stupid but naive.
Maybe NG will show that map again tonight. Hope so.
It was pretty straight-forward though. That Lovers Land was just to the side of the Marriott, her map didn't show north at the top, but on a true-north map, I think the Lane is just to the north of the Marriott, if I've got my directions straight for Aruba.
So the Lovers Lane runs just north of the hotel, runs to the east over to the pond. The Lane seems to be within a mile of the Marriott.
And all these people were stone sober when this occurred? They weren't sitting in a bar onboard drinking themselves silly? It's no secret this stuff is out there, yet people continue to act irresponsibly under the banner of 'just having some fun'.
I believe the Lovers lane area is where they did the earler search that turned up a condom and panties which, apparently, had no relationship to this case.
Certainly.
But when the cruise lines choose to cover these crimes up, and passengers don't have a clue, then there's a real problem. There needs to be LE on each ship, as one guest said on Fox over the weekend.
These crimes need to be investigated before the evidence is destroyed.
Oh, I didn't realize that. Thanks. I was thinking that was somewhere else entirely.
"The Alabama teen's father said he spoke with the witness and isn't sure the story is believable. Dave Holloway said he's kind of mixed about it but wonders what would happen if the witness is speaking the truth."
Had the witness come forward earlier, he would have recollected more clearly and, either the dumping site not be searched at all, or searched earlier on and more thoroughly. The farther away one gets from the time of the incident, the harder it gets to recollect what he actually saw, and can only tell LE what he thinks he saw.
Thanks for the ping.
Sure, but that's purely my speculation. Obviously, I could be wrong.
