Like you, I learned of Espirit de Corps in the military, but it is not a uniquely military concept.....our national Espirit de Corps is in play and at some risk here, as you posted,

There was an old post on SM some time ago about his psych history and the hints that his problems were way bad.

I don't think people are going to quit traveling anywhere on account of this. Foreign tourists get killed here. People want to see the world.

I found it interesting, if true, that AvdS received counseling due to JvdS's problems.
If PVDS' approved the paperwork, etc. for Posner, it was on the orders of whoever he worked for in the gov't, not something he took it upon himself to do on his own. The Aruban gov't has looked the other way on casino licensing years before the VDS arrived on the island. As long as the $ rolls in, the construction continues to provide work to keep the natives quiet, and all the proper elected officials and their surrogates get their cut under the table, it's "one happy island."
yep. But if acted on his own, his cut might be his lines of credit.
Interesting that Joran got slugged. I said to my husband this morning, that this has gotten so bad with the struggle for the truth versus the struggle to keep it down, that someone was going to die.
I had the idea that Joran might not survive prison.

Friends of vander sloots saying he had bruises on his face and they showed up after interrogations. Police say the bruises came from a fight while in jail. He was hurt but is ok. (whatever that means) He has not been removed or moved from where he's at as a result.

I am guessing that if the roles were reversed, and Joran had disappeared with some Mountain Brooke students being the last ones to see him....
The same laws and legal rules they pull out of their a-...er, I mean, air...Imagine what they could come up with if they wanted to KEEP someone in jail, or if they wanted to interogate someone...
Also, last night J. Masur's son was on Fox and he said his sources say Joran has started talking, so he must have gotten tired of holding his hands over his ears. Plus, he's now 18 and there will be no more daily visits from Papa. He's an adult and different rules apply.
I think the role that Jossy and Tito and other Aruban media and spokespeople play is CHATTER. Just keep the chatter going while the days go by. Throw out some new bit of disinformation that will create chatter until tomorrow night's prime time news shows.
