Well I suppose all those confederate statues in the town squares in NC are really union soldiers in disguise?

Laugh.. how absurd. Believe me - NC is a very "southern state".

The way I read that was Natalee came back to the HI? I'm sure she gave much more info to LE.

I hope the VDS's are hounded to death until their property gets thoroughly searched. I'm disgusted that the new head of LE hasn't ordered it by now. Down right negligent, if you ask me.

demkicker, surely there is some kind of technology that can scan the VDS's property without crossing onto their property. Maybe TechnoScout or C. Crane Company carries something...maybe even Harriet Carter or whatever that catalog is called!

Can't those ultra-sophisticated Dutch planes just fly back and forth over the VDS property - or is that area a no-fly zone?! If they can get to the VDS funneling, isn't there anything in the bag of tricks that can finish the job without needing a warrant? I know...I've probably watched too many spy movies, demkicker. I just keep wondering if someone from some agency from somewhere could conveniently take a vacation to Aruba and just happen to have the latest in spy technology - like a special pen with the capability to rf/ifr scan the VDS property or something like that.

d, I better get some housework done...and look for my special spy pen. Maybe I can loan it out!

With all due respect, that's just plain ridiculous. Better go back over the history of the War Between the States. A lot of mighty fine CSA troops hailed from NC.

I'm reading and trying to catch up on the threads. Am I understanding correctly that the witness who saw a nude female's body being dumped at the landfill also saw a yellow station wagon there at the same time & PVDS drives a yellow station wagon?????

I agree with you. Evidently the family was advised early on to be careful about making critical remarks about the investigation because they could backfire and work against them. Consequently, Beth, Jug, Dave & the rest of the family have complied and we can see that it's gotten them absolutely NOWHERE!

Could there be concurrent investigation(s) going on with respect to drugs/money laundering, slave trafficking, etc. in Aruba that started way before Natalee and her classmates even picked Aruba for their graduation present?

If it looks like a "circle jerk," its either a "circle jerk" or a jurisdictional pissing match.

theophilusscribe, that scenario is so "messed up" (that Breezy posted on arubansecrets), I'm inclined to believe it. The angle about the mothers and the International School of Aruba bears investigation...these "Pimps" party all night, every night it seems and somehow have a reputation of being such good kids with honor grades (per Anita's interviews in the beginning). "Gosh," Anita made it sound like Joran was an excellent student, liked sports, was so liked by his friends and was just being impish with his trying to extend his curfew time past 11pm or whatever. "Gosh!"Let's invite Occam and his Razor to the thread; I'd like to run all of these threads by him!

Occam's Razor is a great idea, but I think even Occam would agree that what is the simplest explanation on Mercury is not necessarily what is simplest on Pluto. What I mean is, environment factors in, and I think that the environment of Natalee's disappearance is difficult for us to know for sure. At least it is for me—I confess to not having foreign vacations—only mission trips, which are very different.

But it is a different place—unlike the US on many different levels. That's what is so difficult, I think, hummingbird. Getting at just what kind of guy we're dealing with in Joran, and what kind of society we are dealing with in Aruba (tourist attractions aside).

Very Interesting, as yesterday TexKat posted a link to an article that said the Joran had "offers" to 7 US universities...I'm looking for the link. It was an article in the Dutch newspaper, interviewing a friend of Joran's, which might explain the discrepancy

From the very fringe of my memory, I seem to recall some early posts that said Joran had a scholarship (tennis?) to a Florida University. Wish I could be of better help...

NC is sooo southern. But Maryland?

BTW I don't think Louisiana is that southern, more Caribbean if you ask me.

If you relocate from a true southern state to NC you will see a BIG different. I lived in Asheville, NC for a VERY short time. Not all that southern today. Of course the litmus test for determining today's mindset in NC has been pushed all the way back to the Civil War. lol

Aruba LE is very cagey and the Holloways have been muzzled by threats of abandoning the investigation.

It is secretive.

This is what has driven me nuts and I can't imagine how the Holloway/Twittys have managed to deal with what amounts to an investigative "blackmail" situation. All along the family has been terrified that what they say might backfire, make the ALE mad and hurt the investigation. OTOH, they have to be seething over the possibility they are being played by a bunch of corrupt officials who are stalling and giving lip service to this case. They seem to be in a no win situation. It looks like TX Equisearch is realistically their only hope to find Natalee.

ANITA VAN DER SLOOT: Joran is a very outgoing person. He's a sweetheart. To me, he's very warm. We spend Easter vacation in Florida together to visit his school, and we had a lot of fun together, went to Busch Gardens (search), and he was getting me cups of coffee and making jokes. He's very outgoing, loving, caring, fights with his brothers all the time, but I think that's pretty normal. We cannot get him out of bed in the morning to go to school, but once he's there, he's doing great. He got picked up on the morning of his graduation. He graduated with honor, all As and Bs. He did some AP, advanced courses, physics, calculus, AP English.

Man, I'll have some of what she's smoking!

Who was it that posted a reference to a conversation between a receptionist at a doctor's office (psychiatrist/psychologist?) and a waiting client (I think) about Joran having so many problems. Something about feeling sorry for the rest of the family...Joran being very disturbed or "something" being "the least of his problems." I think it was along the timeline when it was said that he had killed a dog.
