Keep in mind that you can't get much farther left than the St Pete Times, and that Bousquet is also far left, so it's likely that some measure of context has been intentionally omitted.
That said, Crist is pretty weaseley and would probably prove to be a RINO if elected. He's one of those guys who kept running until he was finally elected to something. He won't get my vote in the primary.

Who can identify these people? I see Crist and Reno.
A RINO and a Reno!

If the St. Pete Times, what a rag, has anything good to say about Crist, then run away from him as quickly as you can! Next to the Orlando Slantinel, it is the most liberal rag in Florida.

The Empire Journal is read by the Times. TEJ covered this Crist Banquet earlier this summer and here's a new editorial at TEJ.

FYI: There was a robust protest at Greer's first honorary award banquet. The media covered it - we were surprised. Greer's been getting awards for bumping Terri off since May.

Story picked up by a liberal hack....

If Ruth thought Crist did the right thing, you can bet it was the wrong thing. He is like a endorsement from the NEA; if the NEA endorsed a candidate, whats wrong with him?
One other thing, if the law is an ass, then the law must be ignored or struck down. That is not judicial activism. Judges should rule laws are invalid or unconstitutional, and the law permitting the starving of a healthy but disabled woman should be struck down. I can't support the circus that occurred around Terri, but the principle was sound.
Judicial activism is creating "rights" out of thin air, like to right to kill your unborn child, and the upcoming right, to use the murdered child's stem cells to experiment with.
