Rep. Henry Waxman, a California Democrat and leading abstinence opponent...

Remind me to punch this moron's lights out (for all fathers everywhere) if I ever run into him!

Spector? I know you are going through Chemo, but is it effecting your brain?? Abstinence IS contraception, it's the only foolproof contraception, in fact!

Stats from a article (partial) I wrote giving facts to a local pro-abortion, pro-contraception organization

"While Family Planning Plus made an effort to promulgate contraception as a cure all for the moral ineptitude in the world that causes unwanted pregnancies and sexual transmitted disease, statistics from the American Pregnancy Association, Irving TX show that 68,000,000 American individuals have Sexual Transmitted Disease, with 15,300,000 new cases reported each year and 3,000,000 teenagers acquiring and STD each year.

Those very numbers indicate the failure of the contraceptive mentality that family planners promote.

I'm probably just being cranky, but where in the Constitution does it say the Federal government should tax us so it can promote ANYTHING about contraception?

It doesn't say that anywhere, nor does it say that the federal government may tax us to provide housing, food, medical care, and education for children whose parent(s) didn't want them in the first place. But under the current reality, that's what it's doing, and the tab for promoting contraception is a whole lot smaller than the tab for underwriting the huge welfare state, so until the federal government gets out of all these things it has no business doing, I'll opt for anything that reduces my bill.
