I have been admiring, endorsing, extolling and promoting the Minuteman Project since I first learned of its existence.
But this past weekend, I took the next logical step I joined the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. That's right, I volunteered to join this courageous band of American patriots as a volunteer border watcher this fall.
A few years ago, I wrote a book called Taking America Back," in which I urged my fellow countrymen to start doing their part as individuals to restore morality, freedom and the rule of law in this nation.
There weren't many spectacular models for what I had in mind back then. But the Minutemen are a perfect example.
It couldn't be more clear that the U.S. government is refusing to enforce the duly enacted immigration laws. We can scream about it. We can cry about it. We can petition. We can write letters to our congressmen. We can write letters to the editor. But, ultimately, four years after our country was attacked by terrorists, I don't think any of these actions are going to force the federal government to take responsibility for border control.
I believe the president, the Congress and many of our elite cultural institutions are hell-bent on following some kind of disastrous master plan that involves forgoing serious border security in favor of multinational agreements that only exacerbate our crisis with illegal migrants invading America. The passage of the Central America Free Trade Agreement is just the latest example of this misguided, unconstitutional policy.
You can agree or disagree with that premise, but there is no denying that the U.S. government refuses, despite an overwhelming demand from the American people, to enforce immigration laws and border security.
There are so many reasons to believe border security is the No. 1 crisis facing America right now:
It's a matter of national security, because terrorists are infiltrating this country with plans to kill millions of Americans.
It's a matter of economics, because illegal aliens are taking jobs away from American citizens.
It's a matter of preserving our American culture and language.
It's a matter of safety, because illegal aliens are disproportionately responsible for crime.
It's a matter of preserving the rule of law, because if the government picks and chooses which laws will be enforced, the law becomes meaningless.
It's a matter of preserving U.S. sovereignty, because if borders don't mean anything, we cease to be a nation.
It's a matter of accountability and respect for the will of the people, because if elected officials don't listen, our experiment in representative government fails.
I believe the Minutemen represent our last line of defense in preserving freedom and self-government in America.
It's that simple.
We can't afford to allow the Minutemen to fail.
Ultimately, in a country in which we still theoretically believe in a government of the people, by the people and for the people, the government must be forced kicking and screaming if necessary to accept its responsibility in enforcing the laws.
Only a massive outpouring of support for the Minutemen will make that happen.
It's time to take a stand. The hour is late. This country doesn't have much time left to reverse its self-destructive course.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Why do you say they must stay awazy from Farah?? Enlighten me!
Farah is wrong about a few things.
The Minutemeb are not the LAST line of defens, but the FIRST line of defense.
The problem with the border is in Washington DC, it is there that a great deal of pressure needs to be brought.
Agreed, the Minutemen would be wise to steer clear of Crazy Joe and WorldNutDaily.
Leaders...by their works you will know them
imo

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!
Be Ever Vigilant!
Minutemen Patriots ~ Bump!
It's understandable that you'd be afraid of *Crazy Joe and WorldNutDaily* [also known as *Yonni* due to the resemblence of his cheesy mustache to the one sported by the Israeli folksinger of that name] since once the WND series on Al Gore ran, Gore lost the electoral votes of hius home state of Tennessee, as well as losing in his home county and home precinct, leaving gore and his cronies to whine about *hanging chads* in Florida. But had he carried his home state,he wouldn't have needed Floridas electoral votes for victory.
We can thank WND for that. Or blame him, as you and the Gore organized crime family do.
Wait a minute... Crazy Joe? Is that you? Shouldn't you be chasing down the quadrillions of suitcase nukes crossing the border rather than hanging around on web forums?
btt
I applaud the efforts of the Minute Men. Now heres a simple and obvious solution to the problem of illegal immigration: ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS: GET OUT AND STAY OUT OF OUR COUNTRY! GET OUT AND STAY OUT OF OUR COUNTRY! GET OUT AND STAY OUT OF OUR COUNTRY! What part of GET OUT AND STAY OUT OF OUR COUNTRY don't you understand? P.S. GET OUT AND STAY OUT OF OUR COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I support and donate to the Minutemen. I greatly appreciate their putting their time and energy on the border to help stop the invasion of illegals.
I also support Rep. Culberson's new bill to enable citizen volunteers to work as sworn law enforcement officers under the command of the Governors of the border States.
This is a copy to the e-mail I sent Rep. DeFazio in the House. Others who want to stop the invasion could contact their representatives in congress, too, asking them to co-sponsor the bill.
"U.S. Rep. John Culberson and 47 original cosponsors introduced a bill to create the Border Protection Corps of 2005, made up of citizen volunteers working as sworn law enforcement officers under the command of the Governors of the border States and working in cooperation with State and local law enforcement officials and the United States Border Patrol.
Border Protection Corps operations and the costs of detaining, housing and transporting foreign nationals taken into custody by the Corps or by state and local law enforcement would be paid for using the $6.8 billion in Homeland Security first responder funds that have been sitting unspent and untouched in the U. S. Treasury for over two years.
The Border Protection Corps Act invokes Congresss power under Article I, Section 8 of the U. S. Constitution to provide for calling forth organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, which the bill defines as patrolling and defending the international border of the United States in order to prevent individuals from crossing the international border at any location other than an authorized port of entry.
Congressman Culberson said, The Border Protection Corps Act is necessary because federal authorities do not have the manpower or the resources to protect America's international borders, and we now have sworn testimony by top federal law enforcement officials that potential terrorists from countries with known Al Qaeda connections are entering the United States in significant numbers by assuming false Hispanic identities and hiding among the flood of illegal immigrants pouring across our southern border.
Extremely violent and dangerous criminal gangs like MS-13 and drug smugglers are also crossing our southern borders in growing numbers, and lawlessness in the area around Nuevo Laredo has grown so severe their Chief of Police was shot dead.
9/11 deputized all Americans, but not all Americans can serve in our military or join the FBI or Homeland Security and fight the war on terror in the front lines. The bill enables law-abiding American citizens to help defend our country as a member of a lawful militia force organized into a modern neighborhood watch border patrol program under the direct control of the State's governor and working in close cooperation with State and Federal law enforcement authorities.
"America's best defense against terrorists trying to sneak into our country is to trust the good hearts and the good sense of American citizens who have stepped up over and over again since the days of Lexington and Concord to protect their neighborhoods and their country by filling every breach in our national security as members of the militia until federal authorities could come forward to relieve them.
Border Protection Corps members shall include only United States citizens with no criminal history and no history of mental illness.
Corps members must take an oath to uphold the laws and Constitution of the United States and of the State and shall have the right to keep and bear arms [and can] use any means and any force authorized by state law to prevent individuals from unlawfully entering United States [or] to take into custody individuals who have so entered the United States.
The Border Protection Corps Act would only take effect in those border States whose Governors call for volunteers to serve, and eligible citizens from any State in the Union can serve in the Border Protection Corps of that State.
The Governor who calls for volunteers to serve must follow State law to equip, train, discipline, and otherwise control the operation of such militia forces in defense of the international borders of the United States
Foreign nationals entering the United States illegally who are taken into custody by the Border Protection Corps or by State or local law enforcement authorities must be promptly delivered to a federal law enforcement authority. The foreign national cannot be released in the United States but must be removed to the country from which they entered the U.S., but only after federal law enforcement authorities are fully satisfied that each individual so removed is not a violent or dangerous criminal, a terrorist or a potential terrorist, in which case that individual shall be prosecuted in the United States to the fullest extent provided by law.
