I thought that was an excellent idea, but, I do have concerns, how does the person whose work we desire is compensated for their work. It give's me pause, any thoughts on where I should go from there is always welcome?
Sorry, I have no sugestions here. I'm sure others on the thread will have some good suggestions.
Thanks again for posting this great artwork, truly amazing.

I do not mind the discussion and that is what concerned me that I would want permission before I go to Wal-Mart to make an enlargement. I would just want to give something to the artist.
I think it is great that a company can create such CD, but when I asked if they knew how I could contact them, or they contact them to contact me they had not information. Which if you are doing something with another's work than you should be some how attributing it and compensating for it.
Maybe I am left field, have been up far to long this morning.
As always thanks for the comment, friend.

If this artwork was done as a part of reserve duty or under contract to the Army, it is government property and already in the public domain. The artist can't sell it/be paid for it because he or she doesn't own it. The people of the United States already own it.
However, it would be nice if the CD stated that fact so the copyright monitors at Wal-Mart don't get worked up when you do show up to print them out in 24"x36" format.

I just wanted to say that I am terribly sorry for any heartache I caused by Pinging you to this thread with the artwork within the PING.Apology NOT! You have done wonderfully bringing these to us here. A few moment's wait was all that was necessary to enjoy them. I do wish they could be shown to the whole Country. It could do more than a thousand speeches to bring the humanity and reality of our Armed Forces and what they are up against.

Nope, FMC- I am with you there. I have been known to pirate a tune for a good cause- but taking a solider's art and interruption of their mission while at war - and using it for goodness knows what- is not right to me. Could be someone has a good reason to use it- but that is not for me to say.
To: Former Military Chick
You aren't causing me any heartache.

Your words are so thoughtful and I wish I could have done more to bring these fine artists to this thread to read the amazing comment's on this thread as it pertain's to their work.
Some had just said if I could put the PING following the art it would be easier for them and if I can assist my fellow Freeper's I will do my best. There may be times when it is out of my control but I might be able to assist at least in this circumstance.
I must confess when I read compliment's such as those you wrote it did make the all the hard work worth it. Thank you.

If you have a chance you might check out comment #84. I am always tickled when a fellow Freeper can offer background on a topic and his words are something to consider.
Now I have to try harder to find these folks.

Wow. Thanks for the ping. These ought to be on display somewhere, or be in a travelling exhibit.

Absolutely stunning works. These men and women are talented in so many ways. Thank you! Is there a place where these will be displayed? Some sort of exhibit would be terrific, maybe a travelling one?
To: Former Military Chick
Hey lady - not a problem. BUT - they were pretty big files - espcially if you're on dialup! LOL!!! (I forget sometimes too)
And I think the idea to put them in the thread and then ping folks with a non-graphic ping to the thread is the best idea! *HUGS!*
