It cited an internal CIA memo from her saying "my husband has good relations" with officials in Niger and "lots of French contacts," adding they "could possibly shed light on this sort of activity." A State Department analyst told the committee that Mrs. Wilson "had the idea" of sending Wilson to Africa.

It is Valerie and Joe Wilson who should be sitting in jail, not Judith Miller. They are traitors who should spend the rest of their natural lives in jail.

This entire case just seems to get curiouser and curiouser ~ for me, the operative statement in this particular article by Novak is: "According to CIA sources, she (Mrs. Wilson) was brought home from foreign assignments in 1997, when Agency officials feared she had been "outed" by the traitor Aldrich Ames."

With the introduction of Aldrich Ames into the mix this case takes on a double agent, counter spying, "Jack Higgins" sort of flavor. With Aldrich Ames comes, perhaps, another facet of this investigation.

The leak about your wife was a clear violation of a specific law about exposing the identity of CIA agents. But most leaks don't violate this particular law, although they often involve the release of other kinds of classified information that is illegal under other statutes. Can we really expect to have a government that doesn't leak? Don't people in the executive branch often use classification to hide policies from the public they think would be unpopular?

I think there is more to this investigation than meets the eye ~ but that isn't something we will really know until it's over. In the meantime, for what it's worth, this angle might add a bit of intrigue to a story that has been run into the ground and made tedious beyond belief by the MSM.
