Sex offender who fled to Alaska gets 40 years - Albert Alan Aylor (now this is a sentence)

A convicted sex offender who fled to Alaska after his arrest in Waco for abusing a 13-year-old girl in October 2002 was sentenced to 40 years in prison Friday.

Albert Alan Aylor, 51, who previously lived in Chalk Bluff, pleaded guilty Friday to indecency with a child by contact, bail jumping and failing to comply with sex offender registration laws.

Aylor, who has at least two prior convictions for sex crimes against children, was eligible for an automatic life prison term if convicted again for a sex crime. However, prosecutors agreed to waive the enhancement allegation in a plea bargain that called for Aylor to get 20 years for indecency and 10 years each for the other two charges.

Judge George Allen of Waco's 54th State District Court accepted the plea bargain and ordered the three prison terms to run consecutively.

When Allen asked Aylor how he would plead to bail jumping, Aylor replied, “I'm guilty as hell.”

The indecency charge stems from Aylor's improper sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl at a mobile home Aylor was renting in the Chalk Bluff area in October 2002.

He was released from the McLennan County Jail on bail in December 2002 and missed subsequent court appearances after jumping bail. He was stopped for a traffic violation in Juneau, Alaska, in January 2005 and authorities there discovered that he was wanted in Waco. He was brought back to McLennan County in May to face the pending charges.

According to court records, Aylor was convicted of aggravated sexual assault in Bell County in April 1986 and of indecency with a child in Limestone County in April 1997.

Judge H.D. Black Jr. of 77th State District Court in Groesbeck has set a hearing for Aug. 11 to determine if Aylor's probation for indecency with a child will be revoked.

Instead of life they plead to this, he will die in prison.

There used to be the 3 strikes you are out, I find the way TX sentenced this man as a useful tool for other states to look at and I hope apply. At least bring it their individual legislatures nation wide.

Aylor replied, “I'm guilty as hell.”

He won't be so flippant once he finds out hell is real and waiting for him.

Thanks for keeping track of this topic for us, FMC. You really have raised my consciousness (Oh, how 60's!) on this topic.

It seems to be getting more air time on all news outlets, and it appears that SOME of our legislators are sitting up and taking notice that we have some really scarey men roaming around out there, free as birds!

Did you hear about the 12-year old in Utah that fought off her abductor? Just saw her on the news. What a little spitfire! All young girls (and young boys!) need to be like her. They also found the other missing girl in Mexico. She's safe now, though I'm sure she's been to hell and back. :(

Aylor, who has at least two prior convictions for sex crimes against children

I'll bet the parents of the 13 year old are pretty hacked off about this.

Clinton taught us that the first grope is free. Pedophiles get the first two children for free.

He's going to be real popular in prison for molesting children.

Diana, you are certainly welcome. I do not know what it was that hit me over the head to take a more proactive stance on this topic. Maybe because of the recent news items, the deaths of small children or the fact that several of the sex offender's in my zip are not living where they say they are and I live in within a elementary school and 2 parks.

I do believe FR can provide us with a grass roots effort to stay informed on this topic.

Have you seen this little item I posted earlier 'Pedophile' weds pregnant girl, 13 - Matthew Koso, 22, charged with first-degree sexual assault

As always thank you for the comment, friend.

I'm not sure of the details of the sentencing in this case. It maybe that the defendant thought that by accepting a plea arrangement he'd get the 20 + 10 + 10 to run concurrently rather than consecutively as the judge specified. I'm not sure what the Life sentence meant for him in this case... But in a capital murder case life now means 40 years minimum before any chance of being let out. So the defendant may have been gambling for a lighter sentence and lost because of the judge's consecutive specification. Interesting .....

If we really want to help the victims, we have to learn to KILL these bast@#$s. Children need to learn that they are precious to us. Anyone who would harm a child should not be tolerated, period.
