Russia says it is outraged by an interview with Chechen rebel leader Shamil Basayev broadcast on America's ABC television network.
The Russian foreign ministry summoned a senior US diplomat in Moscow to express its "strong indignation" over the show.
In the interview, the warlord, who had claimed the 2004 raid on a school in Beslan, admitted he was a terrorist but said the Russians were terrorists too.
Russia's most wanted man also warned of further Beslan-type attacks.
More than 320 people - around half of them children - were killed in the attack at the school in September.

I'm with the Russians on this one. No way ABC should be giving air time to this beast - and by refusing to provide any location information to Russian authorities, they are making themselves active allies of the terrorists.

How soon before ABC puts OBL on? I'm so pissed, I might actually call ABC.

Why didn't the Russians call ABC themselves, it's not like our government can do anything about who ABC decides to interview.
To: Heatseeker
Maybe ABC thought he was a tourist?
To: Just mythoughts
i wonder if it is more about ABC actively supporting terrorism.

And what is the BBC doing calling Basayev a rebel and not a terrorist?

Someday ABC will just be asked to leave all the countries in which they have a news presence and their network will swirl further down in the toilet of obscurity.

ABC should've give him up , or have set him up and had him grabbed when they went for the interview. Screw the rules!
Get these guys and bring them to terminal justice any way we can.

In defense of ABC they did portray him as the scumbag that he is. Now that being said ABC really needs to disclose the location so the Russians can smoke his a$$! The commies at ABC won't do it though.

You hit the nail on the head. How they portrayed them is not relevant; it is what they do that matters. It is the same old journalistic crap - the story is more important anything else. Not to us humans it isn't!

That is despicable of ABC.
Wait until they are targeted? They'll whine to high heavens.

Sure has been the case with this country, it would not be hard for the Russian government to figure that out.

BTW, please correct spelling of "terrorist" in the title (he said sheepishly).

Look at what our reporters show from Iraq...not to mention those that are right there filming the terrorists.
But how many power stations, schools or anything else good have you seen out of Iraq?

It wouldn't bother me a bit if the Russians locked up the next ABC News journalist that was in-country until their questions were answered.
