Agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency raided a poultry plant in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, this week, arresting 119 plant workers the agency said were illegal aliens, the Siftings Herald News has reported.
Ronnie Farnam, manager of the Petit Jean Poultry operation, was quoted as saying the company had to cut production by about 70 per cent due to the loss of workers, but he believes many of the workers actually have the necessary paperwork to stay in the United States.
He said the federal agents entered the plant without warning. "It was disturbing. There was no reason for it," he said, noting that Petit Jean Poultry has worked with immigration officials in the past.
The arrests were made as a result of the conviction of a local resident who pleaded guilty to multiple counts of selling identity documents and Social Security cards, a release from the immigration agency stated, as reported by the newspaper.
The local resident, identified in the release as Maria Moreno, formerly worked at Petit Jean. She was arrested in December 2004 and pleaded guilty to charges in February.
Of those arrested, two were from Honduras, one from El Salvador, one from Guatemala and the remaining were from Mexico. There were 50 males and 69 females, including a 14-year-old girl, the release noted.

Is Petit Jean Poultry a subsidiary of Tyson? If not, why isn't Tyson getting raided? Tyson is one dirty underhanded scumbag company so I'm sure they encourage employment of illegals.
I nominate this article for "Worst Title of the Year"
