Very interesting possibility, Truthluva. The casinos in Aruba close early, from what I understand. The so called Raves include after hours gambling - probably big money gambling. I like the part of your theory where you said the ATM withdrawal wasn't enough to get Natalee back.
Wouldn't it be wild if Paulus, Juran and the Kalpoes are the good guys, but are too AFRAID to reveal the truth? Strange, indeed.
Oh I realize that the guards were blamed that night... I was just curious WHEN they picked up the security guards.. that's why I went looking for a timeline.
Beth's visit to the PVDS house took place after the Kalpoes and Juran had been arrested, which was June 9thish, I think.
There is something that bugs me about T.J.
Is he the PI that supposedly has ties to Jossey? If so, then that explains a lot.
At this stage, I don't know how Beth, Dave, Jug and the rest of the family have refrained from complete insanity.
With the Peterson case, it was fairly obvious quickly, within a week that something was off with Scott. It took a while to completely believe he did it, but you get the drift.
Here, a small island, and unlike the Peterson case, limited investigation at the start to our knowledge:
What statements were not taken that first night?
What car(s) wasn't searched that first night?
What clothing wasn't confiscated that first night?
Who's bodies were not viewed for scratches/bruises that first night?
Do we know if the students have given statements?
Not to mention all the cell phone data, tower information...do we know just how wide the net has been thrown: JVDS, the K Brothers, PVDS, the DJ, how about AVDS, plus the chief of police...I wouldn't put it past Paul to call in a few chips if needed.
So, how does a girl disappear from an island in less than 12 hours? Money and power. Follow the money. That's my rule, and in my mind, that would be PVDS.
He did say 'passkey', didn't he?
I think that visit to the vdS house was much later, weeks, when he was sweating bullets.
Make that $200,000.
Wouldn't suprise me a bit if this is exactly the scenario. Puts a nice bit of interest into the casino games there - gambling for tootsie rolls...and the drugs, of course.
I agree. In fact, since Aruban authorities don't talk to the press at all, rumor is the main source of news. If the media was not glaring on this case there would be an absolute blackout.
I cannot imagine being a parent trying to deal with this sitution without news at all.
Anything else since you posted the bombshell about the witness seeing a burial or body?
Crews dig in Aruba landfill in search for missing Alabama teen
PETER PRENGAMAN
Associated Press
ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Police and a volunteer group from Texas searched a landfill Friday in hopes of finding clues about what happened to missing U.S. teenager Natalee Holloway.
Crews used a tractor, a bulldozer and infrared equipment at the landfill on the southern part of the island, said Tim Miller, director of the Dickinson-based volunteer Texas EquuSearch.
"There is a good reason we are there but I can't disclose that information at all," Miller told The Associated Press. "This could be a six-hour project or six days."
Police spokesman Edwin Comenencia declined to say what prompted the search.
"So far they have found nothing," he said
Reporters were not allowed past the gates of the Parakietenbos landfill, which is on the opposite side of the island from where Holloway disappeared May 30.
Meanwhile Friday, crews using three water pumps got close to completely draining a pond near the Marriott Hotel, where an eyewitness claimed he saw three young men - a Dutch youth who has been detained in the case and two Surinamese brothers - the night Holloway disappeared.
The witness told investigators that he saw three young men driving near the pond on May 30 between 2:30 and 3 a.m. - a time the three previously told investigators they were already home, said Vinda de Souza, a lawyer for Holloway's family.
When the pond is drained, police planned to search the area, Comenencia said.
"All we are doing is checking for evidence based on the witness account," he said.
Extensive searches by Dutch marines, Aruban police, and thousands of volunteers have found no trace of Holloway, who disappeared on the final night of a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island.
No one has been charged in the case. Joran van der Sloot, 17, is the only person detained as a suspect. Two brothers, 18-year-old Satish and 21-year-old Deepak Kalpoe, both of Surinam, were previously held and released.
Also Friday, a court ruled that DNA samples collected last week from van der Sloot and Satish Kalpoe could not be used in a case against them.
In van der Sloot's case, the court ruled the prosecution did not clarify what his DNA samples would be compared with. The court said the prosecution could submit a request to get new DNA samples from der Sloot if they had documents clarifying what would be used in the comparison.
In Satish Kalpoe's case, the court ruled there was not enough evidence to warrant using the tests.
FBI tests concluded Wednesday that strands of blond hair found on duct tape in Aruba's northeastern coast earlier this month did not come from Holloway.
The court also denied a motion by van der Sloot's lawyers to prohibit authorities from questioning him outside the prison where he is being held. The teenager has routinely been taken to a police station for questioning.
The court has yet to rule on a defense motion to prevent Aruban investigators from sharing information with the FBI, which has been advising in the case. Aruban authorities recently agreed to provide the FBI with documents in the investigation, including transcripts of interviews.
You're right, now up to $200K for info leading to her whereabouts.
"Wouldn't it be wild if Paulus, Juran and the Kalpoes are the good guys, but are too AFRAID to reveal the truth? Strange, indeed."
That has crossed my mind a few times over the last couple of weeks. I just can't see some slave trader using a 17 year old kid to do the ground work for him. Too risky. Also, the guy keeps making up new stories like he doesn't really have a clue what to say. Past the first story about the HI that we think Paulus helped concoct he's been all over the place with his stories.
I wonder if CC recognized a voice on that message that Beth had him listen to and knew what that person was involved in? I wonder if it's someone high up on the political food chain? Anybody know where Rudy Croes was that night? Or Van Der Staaten for that matter? Ben King?
Again, if it's true. I would love to get some verification of all of these rumors.
You might be right about him saying *passkey*.
Yeah, I'm not sure why the red jeep would be there watching (from a distance) as the 3 guys with their car get rid of a body in broad daylight at the landfill. Maybe the great smart lawyer Paulus thought, gee I have to think of a way for these guys to get caught red handed. I know I'll have them take the body to the landfill in broad daylight. /sarcasm
Night time maybe but not in broad daylight, imo.
I think Beth was at the VDS house in the wee hours of the first night of her arrival. And I think it was because of the screaming monkey she heard in the background of a cell phone message. If I'm wrong, 'scuse me please. I plead information overload.
I actually like your theory! Interesting. I'd sure like to believe we're seeing some dog and pony show, while negotiations are still ongoing. It would explain TJ Wolf and his 'ringmaster' qualities.
These two paragraphs are most interesting:
The court also denied a motion by van der Sloot's lawyers to prohibit authorities from questioning him outside the prison where he is being held. The teenager has routinely been taken to a police station for questioning.
The court has yet to rule on a defense motion to prevent Aruban investigators from sharing information with the FBI, which has been advising in the case. Aruban authorities recently agreed to provide the FBI with documents in the investigation, including transcripts of interviews.
