www.wmal.com has links to both the management of the station and to Michael Graham's show. I have already voiced my support of Micheel and sent a letter of complaint to them management.

For those of us that believe in Michael Graham's right to free speech, please support him now.

I'm not a huge fan of Michael Graham. He can be a little bit like O'Reilly, feeling he has to balance every criticisim of the left with one of the right (even if he has to stretch reality to find one). For example, in Charleston, if you thought raising and preserving the CSS Hunley in a museum was a good idea, Graham would describe you as a "Confederista."

That said, he has hit the nail on the head with his assessment of the religion of peace, and if he loses his job over this, I will be the first Freeper pass the hat.

Sean Hannity works for ABC / Disney, and Rush Limbaugh is on their stations , Mark Levin is on WABC New York City. What does this mean for their future? George Mitchel, big Dem and other Hollywood types on top of the corportation.

Even though these people have contract, they can still get paid and not broadcast.

I will now officially join the people here that I disagree with to write the sponsors amd Disney and demand he be reinstated.

How revealing that we live in a time when telling the Truth
when the exercise of one rights once recognized under our
US Constitution--Now serves as recipe for harrassment and
or expulsion. The apostle Paul(Saul of Tarsus)wrote to Timothy "For the time will come, when men will not be able to bear sound doctrine ,and will heap unto themselves teachers with itching ears, and will turn from the truth unto fables."Clearly no more sure evidence can be found to
suggest we live in just such a time.

Jewish World Review April 21, 2004 / 30 Nissan, 5764

THEY HATE ME! THEY REALLY HATE ME!

By Michael Graham

Our columnist has PO-ed CAIR. Why not send him a note?

http://www.jewishworldreview.com | "Choose your friends carefully. Your enemies will choose you." — Yassir Arafat.

The headline on the email read "Get Someone Else To Start Your Car." If it hadn't been from a co-worker, I would have deleted it as some bizarre, auto-repair spam.

Instead, I read the attached message, a press release from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Washington, DC. Right away, a few words jumped out at me:

"Anti-Muslim." "Spewing hate." "Bigotry." Oh, and one more: "Michael Graham."

CAIR has just launched a national media campaign, the clumsily named "Hate Hurts America," to combat what they consider "hate radio by conservative talk show hosts." Their press release urges national action and unceasing diligence by Muslims against the "bigotry" of radio, but in the entire three-page document, CAIR only mentions one talk-show host by name.

Lucky me.

Actually, I do consider myself lucky, because I believe that our true character is revealed by the quality of our enemies, and I couldn't be prouder to count the terrorist-coddling CAIR as a foe. I am also lucky because CAIR is so bad at what they do.

What CAIR does is try to portray all criticism of all Muslims everywhere as bigotry. They singled me out because I said on the air (and have said in print as well) that Islam is a uniquely dangerous religion, that the religion itself needs a reformation much like those experienced by Catholicism and Mormonism, and that the one distinguishing attribute of "moderate" Muslims is their reluctance to publicly criticize the actions of the Islamo-fascist extremists who continue to spread terror.

Now, you might agree with me or you might disagree with me, but this is hardly bigotry. "Stating the obvious" is a more apt description. But any criticism from an infidel like yours truly is unbearable to the folks at CAIR, and so they've launched their attack:

"Graham recently made an implicit call for violence against Muslims," CAIR said in their press release. "He said: 'I don't wanna say we should kill 'em all [Muslims], but unless there's reform [within Islam], there aren't a lot of other solutions that work in the ground struggle for survival.'"

Now, you don't have to be a literary critic to see that the folks at CAIR have added a significant word to that quote on their own ("[Muslims]") and that they've added it to a rather significant sentence, "kill 'em all." The reason they had to add the word "Muslim" to begin with is, of course, because I didn't say it.

What I said was that I wanted some solution to the struggle between civilization and the Islamists (the violent, Muslim extremists) other than their obliteration. Unfortunately, at that point in my conversation, I couldn't think of one.

What's worse is that I still can't.

Islam has a problem, a problem with the Islamo-fascists who I'm told by folks like CAIR don't represent "real" Muslims. I point out this problem, and my frustration with the fact that so-called "moderate Muslims" appear to be doing so little to solve it, and I'm a hate-spewing bigot. Meanwhile, mosques in "moderate" countries like Egypt and Pakistan continue to support suicide bombers or, like Iran and Saudi Arabia, give money to terror groups like Hamas and the Al Aqsa Martyr Brigades.

Apparently being a "moderate" Muslim means you only want to kill the Jews.

Then again, what to expect from an organization like CAIR whose executive director, Nihad Awad, has openly expressed support for Hamas and Hizbullah? Or from a group that takes money from the whacko Wahabbis of Saudi Arabia, with their extreme view of Islam and the limited rights of women, homosexuals and non-Muslims?

In fact, the same week CAIR was trying to get me thrown off the air, one of their former employees, Randall Todd "Ismail" Royer, was being thrown in jail. "Ismail" got 20 years in prison for his illegal, terror-related activities in the Virginia Jihad Network, a network he's admitted forming here in the US after September 11th.

What's so frustrating to me is that, if CAIR were truly a moderate organization dedicated to reform, we would be fast friends, not enemies. I think I'm like the vast majority of Americans who know relatively little about Islam, aren't particularly interested in learning much more, but would like to see normal, decent Muslims lead the charge to take back their faith from the Osamas and al-Sadrs and Yassins and Wahabbists of the world. Instead you've got the spokesman for CAIR explaining on my radio show why they support the good Hamas, not the bad one.

If the "Muslim" Martin Luther King appeared today, American Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Scientologists, atheists, Rotarians and even some Democrats would rise to cheer him and offer arms and treasure for his cause. We want the world to be safe. We don't want to live in constant fear that our neighbor's faith is going to make him dangerous to all who don't share it. In other words, we want the Muslim religion to be a little less, well, religious.

Does anyone know the Islamic term for "Unitarian?"

Darn. There goes that "hate speech" again.

Important!

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately  on  my page.

Besides this one, I keep separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card, and occasionally for David Warren and Lee Harris. You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).

DC Radio Host Says 'Islam is a terrorist organization'
Ask WMAL to reprimand Michael Graham for ‘hate-filled' remarks

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 7/25/05) - CAIR today called on a Washington, D.C., radio station to reprimand a talk show host who states repeatedly that “Islam is a terrorist organization.” American Muslims are also being urged to contact the station's advertisers to express their concerns about the host's Islamophobic views. CAIR says it has received complaints today from Muslim listeners who heard WMAL-AM's Michael Graham state:

1. “Islam is a terrorist organization.”

2. “Islam is at war with America.”

3. “The problem is not extremism. The problem is Islam.”

4. “We are at war with a terrorist organization named Islam.”

When contacted by CAIR, WMAL's Program Director Randall Bloomquist said he stands behind Graham. He said that while WMAL would not permit the use of the “N-word” or anti-Semitic slurs, Graham's remarks about Islam do not require disciplinary action. “Such hate-filled and inflammatory remarks only serve to encourage those who would turn bigoted views into violent or discriminatory actions against ordinary American Muslims,” said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Reasoned discussion on issues related to terrorism should be encouraged, but extremist anti-Muslim rhetoric harms our nation's image worldwide and serves as a recruiting tool for terrorists.” Hooper said CAIR is asking American Muslims and other people of conscience to contact WMAL advertisers and express their concerns about Graham's remarks. Last year, CAIR challenged on-air remarks by Graham that seemed to make an implicit call for violence against Muslims. He said: “I don't wanna say we should kill ‘em all [Muslims], but unless there's reform [within Islam], there aren't a lot of other solutions that work in the ground struggle for survival.”

(Graham later claimed he was only referring to so-called “Islamists,” but the context of the quote indicated otherwise.) Graham also said: “Would you hire an Arab-Muslim group for a friend's daughter's Bat Mitzvah, I wouldn't, if you would you're a dope, that's not bigotry, that completely reasonable smart discrimination.” Graham's remarks were highlighted in the announcement of CAIR's “Hate Hurts America” campaign designed to counter anti-Muslim hate on radio talk shows. From CAIR itself. Story reads "The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said today that one of its representatives helped convince a Florida man to remove a toilet in his yard with a sign attached that read: "Koran flush 1 p.m."

Makes you wonder about the definition of the word "convince" doesn't it?

I am furious over WMAL's actions. While I don't always agree with Michael, I believe he has the right to speak his mind and I applaud him for his comments, which I believe are true. Here's the definitions of 'cult' from dictionary.com: "A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader." Hey, if the shoe fits.

At what point do we stop showing deference to muslims? This is absolutely ridiculous. Why is it that only American viewpoints are stifled? Can you imagine what would happen if I started the 'Americans for Peace Association' and advocated that the murder of muslims was appropriate in some instances? You better believe I'd be arrested. Yet muslim imam's do the equivalent to that every day in this country and we sit idly by and allow it. But, let Michael Graham suggest that islam is a cult...holy cow, we can't have that. There is a backlash brewing against the PC crap in this country and I am all for it.

But it is the plain truth: Islam is a terror organization."

I think Michael should say he misspoke and say "I meant to say that "But it is the plain truth: Many parts of Islam are terror organizations.""

Total absolutes will always get you in trouble. There are always a few exceptions to any statement.
