i just heard on WMAL that Michael was "suspended for one day".

sorry to be a cynic, but since it was reported to be a SUSPENSION WITH PAY & on the FRIDAY before he has a weeks scheduled VACATION, i'm afraid that this is what used to be called a PUBLICITY STUNT and or "an attempt to turn away complaints from the Muslim community without really doing anything."

His comments on Islam though unpopular with some Muslims are protected by the First Ammendment of the Consitution.

That's correct as far as what he says on his own time but totally inaccurate as far as what he says on his employers radio station. It's their chair, it's their microphone.......

He has absolutely no constitutional right to say whatever he wants on the radio.

As far as I am concerned, you yourselves have slapped your traditional listenership in the face in favor of non-traditional listeners (no doubt) and accordingly, have 'suspended' my own listenership to WMAL due to YOUR censorship.

I like you and I like most of your posts but this ain't censorship. It's a private company exercising it's rights. Now, if the federal government was doing this it would be censorship.

With that said I hope the marketplace kicks these folks in the danglers.
