WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) denounced the Republican elites emerging campaign to outmaneuver the partys base on the issue of immigration control and border security. Former high-level officials at the RNC and the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign are orchestrating a multi-million dollar effort on behalf of big business to sell the Presidents illegal alien amnesty plan, The Los Angeles Times reported this morning.
Let me get this straight. Our most loyal supporters give up their vacations to walk door-to-door for our Republican candidates. They hand out bumper stickers and put out yard signs. They convince coworkers which way to vote over the water cooler. And this is the reward they get? With that kind of thanks, the base is beginning to wonder if it was all worth it, said Tancredo.
The article reveals that big business groups are paying $250,000 a piece to fund a media war chest to counterbalance the echo chamber of conservative talk radio even though the President and Republican leadership used that echo chamber with great success to bypass traditional, liberal media outlets.
Liberals are investing millions of dollars to build a media empire to match the one the conservative movement created over the last generation. If the GOP leadership tries to disconnect the partys direct line to the base, well be kicked out of here faster than you can say minority party, noted Tancredo.
Tancredo concluded, Good policies beget good politics. Last week I introduced the only comprehensive immigration, border security and guest worker bill in Congress. It will keep the American economy strong while strengthening our national security. My plan wont require a multi-million dollar sales pitchthe grassroots are already on board.
Uh tancredo backstabbing Delay is true.
Sorry to bother you with that fact.
Uh newbie, yes he is. But nice try in trying to slime Kyl.
DeLay recently said he won't move any guest worker bills before we add more border security. I doubt you even like DeLay. I think you use him and what Tancredo said about him in a lame and fruitless attempt to try and drive a wedge between conservatives, just like the liberal media.
bump to the top!
Believe what you want. Kyl is no conservative. The only real conservatives I see in Washington are Tancredo, Jones, Coburn, Hayworth, Poe, DeMint, and probably a few others I'm not thinking off.
Tancredo's starting to look inviting, isn't he? BTW, he's also correct about the "wondering if it's worth it" part.
I couldn't accept such a gift from you, so I returned it to you.
TT in 08 bump
hy did he speak of nuking Mecca? Because if "they" nuked us first THAT would be the return volley. He wasn't saying it on a whim.
Context is our friend.
I agree. The problem is so many states have those open primaries. It lets the democrats walk in and spoil everything. Remember how close McCain got in 2000?
Yeah being an American Conservative Union standout as Kyl is, makes him a "moderate".
But go ahead no one is stopping you from sliming and backstabbing a good conservative, that's what tancredo supporters and tancredo himself are known for.
Tommy T bump
Gee...I guess he would be a perfect partner for McLaim on their ticket 'to no where'!
LOSER!
Re read my whole post.
There's a tiny bit of sarcasm in the last line.
As you said, context is our friend.
LOL I read it & must have missed that part.
No, he's anti illegal immigration.
If you are lockstep pro administration, you are then for illegal immigration.
As far as calling him a loser, think about it; he is in Congress in a position to directly influence policy. You are ranting under an assumed name on a keyboard with little or no influence.
Think about it.
Time for another cup of coffee!
Here is another Florida resident in agreement.
However, I already feel the GOP is worthless:
$15 billion to Africa, but cancel/cutback F-35, F-22, DD(X), close military bases, etc. due to "too much money".
Cancel billions in foreign debt owed to us, but push back Social Security age for retirment due to "too costly".
Picking Roberts instead of Luttig, Brown or Jones.
The $400 billion Prescription Drug Bill that has now turned into an over $1 trillion Bill.
Fighting a politically correct war in Iraq by not attacking bunkers because they are called "mosques", even though these "mosques" have snipers in them.
Past policy on border control since 2001, not just this current issue on border policy.
This list goes on for another 100 megabytes. I'll stop here.
