WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) denounced the Republican elites emerging campaign to outmaneuver the partys base on the issue of immigration control and border security. Former high-level officials at the RNC and the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign are orchestrating a multi-million dollar effort on behalf of big business to sell the Presidents illegal alien amnesty plan, The Los Angeles Times reported this morning.
Let me get this straight. Our most loyal supporters give up their vacations to walk door-to-door for our Republican candidates. They hand out bumper stickers and put out yard signs. They convince coworkers which way to vote over the water cooler. And this is the reward they get? With that kind of thanks, the base is beginning to wonder if it was all worth it, said Tancredo.
The article reveals that big business groups are paying $250,000 a piece to fund a media war chest to counterbalance the echo chamber of conservative talk radio even though the President and Republican leadership used that echo chamber with great success to bypass traditional, liberal media outlets.
Liberals are investing millions of dollars to build a media empire to match the one the conservative movement created over the last generation. If the GOP leadership tries to disconnect the partys direct line to the base, well be kicked out of here faster than you can say minority party, noted Tancredo.
Tancredo concluded, Good policies beget good politics. Last week I introduced the only comprehensive immigration, border security and guest worker bill in Congress. It will keep the American economy strong while strengthening our national security. My plan wont require a multi-million dollar sales pitchthe grassroots are already on board.
I agree.
I wonder if the Rats could use CFR to shut down FR 30 days prior to an election? Maybe that would get the fools attention.
Hmm no, many people like it, and seeing the dearth of hyoerbolic posts about it, proves my contention.
Anyway, I'll support good conservatives such as Kyl/Cornyn who actually are trying to solve problems, rather that people like tancredo who uses his office resources to put out vanity press releases on internal party machinations.
Fits me like a glove.
You're becoming a broken record.
This is the same thing I have been saying regarding the senate for a very long time.
Indeed,
Since before 2000,
So you don't think moderates like Kyl put out press releases like that?
LOL! Straight from the horses mouth.
bttt
I'm with YOU Tom, I'll kick the GOP to the curb in a minute. Bush and the boys have sold us out on illegal immigration.
Don't forget the increase in the size of the federal government, the medicare expansion, the increase in spending and CAFTA.
Ah yes, that's our Dane. I haven't posted this in quite a while. Looks like it's time to dust it off for another posting.
LOL, you really like to step in it don't you, first you comapare Tom Delay to barney frank, and now say Kyl is a moderate.
Now you can see why tancredo is stuck at the bottom of the House totem pole, he appeals to and his rhetoric reflects those who don't know what they are talking about.
Try finding where I repeat myself as often as you. I haven't been here a month, but I swear I've seen that "backstabbing DeLay" line from you a hundred times.
We got ourselves a leader...
What a nutcase Tancredo is!
First he talks about nuking Mecca, now he talks about doing the will of the voters.
He must be stopped before more Washington politicians begin listening to their constituents.
Gee onyx, why didn't you post the platimum copy you received.
"He must be stopped before more Washington politicians begin listening to their constituents."
Oh the humanity.
It's pointless to build a coalition and pass legislation, when the resulting legislation is in gross defiance of the reasons the representatives were sent to DC in the first place!
So now Kyl is a conservative? I guess John McCain and Jim Kolbe are too. You need to look beyond the "R."
