WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) denounced the Republican elites emerging campaign to outmaneuver the partys base on the issue of immigration control and border security. Former high-level officials at the RNC and the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign are orchestrating a multi-million dollar effort on behalf of big business to sell the Presidents illegal alien amnesty plan, The Los Angeles Times reported this morning.
Let me get this straight. Our most loyal supporters give up their vacations to walk door-to-door for our Republican candidates. They hand out bumper stickers and put out yard signs. They convince coworkers which way to vote over the water cooler. And this is the reward they get? With that kind of thanks, the base is beginning to wonder if it was all worth it, said Tancredo.
The article reveals that big business groups are paying $250,000 a piece to fund a media war chest to counterbalance the echo chamber of conservative talk radio even though the President and Republican leadership used that echo chamber with great success to bypass traditional, liberal media outlets.
Liberals are investing millions of dollars to build a media empire to match the one the conservative movement created over the last generation. If the GOP leadership tries to disconnect the partys direct line to the base, well be kicked out of here faster than you can say minority party, noted Tancredo.
Tancredo concluded, Good policies beget good politics. Last week I introduced the only comprehensive immigration, border security and guest worker bill in Congress. It will keep the American economy strong while strengthening our national security. My plan wont require a multi-million dollar sales pitchthe grassroots are already on board.
I agree-amnesty plan without border control is insane!
Bush and the Rhino's are skating on thin ice.
We will not vote for Republicans again without immigration reform..no amnesty.
They convince coworkers which way to vote over the water cooler.
We might FINALLY get this along the border:
But we'll likely get this in the Whitehouse:

Tancredo's theme song should be "You're so Vain".
Once again, Dane, Tancredo didn't start this.
He's just doing the job that moderates won't do. lol
Oh yeah and he didn't backstab Tom Delay either(/sarcasm).
Because he didn't sit down and shut up? Is that what you want in a representative, or do actually want REPRESENTATION?
Why are you so pissed at Tancredo? He's simply upholding the laws that everyone else wants to ignore for political purposes. You love to smear his motives, how about the motives of his opponents?
None of them are perfect, they're politicians, remember. But Tancredo's positions and proposals are Constitutional, while the open borders whores' aren't.
Yes I want representation who works hard and builds coalitions to promote legislation , what I don't what is self-aggrandizing blow hards who put out dime a dozen vanity press releases such as tancredo.
Precisely. Bush is less of a conservative, and more of an elitist.
He's the best we were going to do in 2000 and 2004.... and that sucks.
Such as any of them. Get real.
The difference here is that he refuses to go along with the moderates and actually uphold the law. I appreciate that. Apprently, you don't. I thought FR was a conservative site. How has a moderate lemming like you managed to stay around here so long?
He's just doing the job that moderates won't do.
lol...
Note, everyone, the attack on the person of Tancredo .... and not the argument.
lol! I'm adopting his tactic in post 15...
He's the best we were going to do in 2000 and 2004.... and that sucks
Yeah really a President who has pushed for tax cuts, is the most pro-life President the country ever had, and supports that the trial lawyers can't put firearms manufacturers out of business(an issue dear to you) is an elitist.
Maybe do some research and less knee jerking.
Bush puts out daily vanity press releases.
So I expect you will be criticizing the White House now......?
